The Violet Ripple is seamless, and smooth to the touch. It is made of Pyrex glass and is shatter-resistant, but care should be taken when handling it to avoid cracking or chipping if it’s dropped. The glass is phthalates-free and nonporous, and has no smell or taste. It’s a pretty lavender color, which deepens in brighter light and is quite luminous.

This plug has a lovely design. It resembles a tulip bulb set atop a thick tube. At about 2 1/2" long, the bulb is over 50% of the plug’s length. It has a blunt, rounded tip for easy insertion and widens to 1 1/2" in diameter before joining the neck. The width of this plug may be too large for some, but the tapering shape of the bulb will allow for resting and stretching as it is pushed in to place.

The neck of the Violet Ripple is 3/4" in diameter, and it extends about 1 1/2" before joining to the base. The base is flat and flares out from the neck to about 1 3/8” in diameter. While the base is not as wide or wider as the maximum diameter of this toy, it is considerably wider than the neck. In addition, since the Violet Ripple is made of glass, the base won’t bend or fold out of shape and cause the entire toy to slip inside. The base is flat, which allows the Violet Ripple to stand upright, and it can also be held while moving the plug gently in and out.

The smooth texture and the shape of this plug make it comfortable for insertion, and will be best for those who like plugs with no give. The tip is not too pointed and the gradual increase of the bulb to its widest point allows the plug to either be slipped in or gradually worked in with little discomfort using plenty of lubrication.

The Violet Ripple works well for temperature play as well. It can be warmed under water or chilled in the refrigerator for added sensation.

The Violet Ripple is easy to care for. Since it is made of Pyrex glass, it is shatter resistant, but it should be checked for cracks or any chipping before using it. Care should be taken not to drop it, especially onto hard surfaces.

This plug should always be stored in its padded bag when not in use. The drawstring storage bag that comes with the Violet Ripple is made of purple faux suede and has a pink satin lined interior and is ideal to keep the plug safe.

The Violet Ripple can be cleaned with warm water and soap before and after use and dried with a soft towel. It can also be boiled on the stove or cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher. A bleach solution may also be used. Water-based, silicone, and oil lubricants are all safe to use.

I really like the look of this plug. The purple color changes from light to dark depending on the light it’s in, and it is truly elegant. It could easily be left out on a shelf or dresser without giving away what it actually is.

With plenty of lubrication, I found this plug went in smoothly. While hard toys tend to feel bigger than softer ones of the same size, I found the Violet Ripple felt comfortable and not too large. It was also easy for my husband to hold on to the base and work it in and out until seated.

The base initially concerned me on this toy, since it doesn’t seem like it has quite enough flair. I found when the plug was inserted, however, that it didn’t try to slip in. The base is 5/8” wider than the neck, and with the length of the toy and the length of the neck, this fit my anatomy and I never felt that it was going to go in farther than it should. I found the Violet Ripple was also easy to remove.

The base didn’t get in the way when I inserted another toy vaginally, and I was also able to use this with my husband without any problems.

I love the fact that this comes with a storage bag. The bag is roomy and holds the plug with room to spare.
