I do hate to seem whiny, but I ordered last Wednesday and would have had my package by Friday with USPS. They're so much more reliable than UPS and the extra week that I have to wait (with no updates -- the UPS website says nothing after departure scan) is a disappointment.
UPS SurePost is now being tried for USPS deliveries.....

But I was confused there for a moment when looking at it. I also prefer USPS because they knock each time but sometimes UPS won't even knock or ring the doorbell....that kinda irritates me. I called customer support, Very amazing and helpful people, (thanks Megan!), who told me they were trying a new option called UPS SurePost. She tried to get my package back but was told it was too late.
I am now getting my packages delivered in a week. And however many days it takes the USPS to put it on the delivery roster.
Soooo....advice, go with UPS 2nd day or next day. Now I have no new toys for over a week, I am just seriously bummed and all our plans for the weekend are out the window. Anyone else crying tears in their beers with me????? less

I was wondering what was going on. My last two shipments have gotten in to my city very early (6 AM-ish) one day, yet I don't receive it for a full two days after that. I suppose UPS takes it to the nearest post office, then they have to sort it, then send it out for delivery...kind of a hassle in my opinion. Glad I understand now though and that I'm not the only one having trouble.

I got mine a day later than I would have with USPS alone, even though it was estimated for longer and didn't update for a couple days. I guess it's just entirely up to luck how quickly they get to you. I hate that uncertainty.

I placed an order last Thurs. with the free USPS option and it said it would be here on Mon. Not a big deal, because it arrived 2 days later. At the the time of delivery, I was told that I had postage due for 56 cents, which I paid, no problem.
I guess I don't really have a problem with this new system of delivery ( since it's free), but it would be helpful to be able to continue to track a package once USPS takes over and of course if there is any extra fees involved.

Okay, got my packaged delivered today. You know it's interesting, I had another ordered that arrived recently and the UPS tracking claimed that it was still on the UPS truck. I'm beginning to think these tracking numbers are useless.

I just found out (yesterday) from Megan in customer service that EF has decided to stop using the Surepost service. Yay! It just shows how awesome EF is about paying attention to their customers!

I just wanted to post my feedback regarding UPS Surepost. I think it is terrible! My package is taking much, much longer to get here than it ever has in the past.

My package is still three states away. It was shipped 4 days ago, but so far it's moving at about the same pace USPS usually moves for me. Slooowwwwwly.
My hypothesis was that Surepost would actually be quicker for me than regular USPS. Typically, UPS gets to my rural town much, much more quickly than USPS, so I thought maybe their magic would rub off on my UPSP shipments. Not so much, apparently.

I wondered why my lastest package was sent UPS instead of USPS. It's scheduled to arrive 3 business days later than it would have with USPS. Even a normal UPS delivery would have been quicker. I am hoping it arrives earlier than scheduled. According to the tracking information, it has been sitting in a facility one state over since last Friday.
Only one out of my four orders for March were shipped this way. I hope they go back to the old way or at least give us an option to choose which we want.

I really hope they don't end up using this method forever. UPS 2nd day is really expensive for the amount of toys I get sometimes.

I just checked on the status of an order and even though I'm positive I chose USPS at checkout (it says USPS Priority at the bottom of the order page), under "actual shipment method" it says "UPS Expedited Mail Innovations."
