I do know that in Texas it is illegal to be in possession of a dildo. Of course, that's not generally enforced.

See here.

I live in Texas, but I don't flash my dildos around so I don't know how strict the police are, lol.

Wow. How do the brick-and-mortar sex toy stores remain open without having their stock confiscated and/or the owners and workers being arrested and prosecuted? What a ridiculous law!

I'd love to see a movie like the Untouchables, but instead of alcohol, Kevin Costner is trying to shut down the dildo trade.

I read an article once that said it is illegal in the state of alabama to sell toys for sexual stimulation. Alabama is also home to a sex toy drive through. link here is the article.

I would hate to be driving through one and get pulled over.

I can't believe these laws still exist. Would they rather people use other objects that aren't safe? It's time to get real.

LOL. It'd be so frightening. "Is there a problem Officer??"
"Ma'am, is that a dildo in your bag next to you?"

*speeds away* "YOU AIN'T GONNA TAKE ME ALIVE, COPPER!"

My dad felt the same way about me having so many things of lacy panties. He's like "You don't need that"

I was like "Would you prefer I had guns, knives, illegal substances or something of the like? Lacy panties aren't killing anybody."

I did a post about a drive-thru adult store and found out that in Alabama it's apparently illegal to sell sex toys without a "medical" reason. Weirdos in denial.

And yes, Illusional! Run, baby, run! Hide out in a building and refuse to come out until the cops comply with your demands! Vibes for all! I can just see them with the bullhorn asking you to drop the dildo and step away slowly.

Haha. I live in Texas as well don't think that law is enforced.. If it were, I'd be screwed! Maybe Illusional and I could evade the cops together!

I live in Texas, too, so if sex toys are really illegal here, how in the world do we have so many brick-and-mortar sex toy stores that are publicly out there and not even "hidden"/black market? The one I go to is prominently located in a very nice part of town, in a very nice shopping center, right next door to an extremely popular bakery that is owned by a local Christian family (the bakery even has scriptural verses painted on their walls, mixed in amongst a montage of painted scenery).

It might not hold up if it were taken to the federal courts. That's how the sodomy laws finally bit the dust.

The bad news is that you'd need someone with enough money and balls to go through with it.

Balls, maybe, but money, probably not. There are a ton of organizations that would fit the bill for this sort of thing, if anybody was actually ever charged. Lawyers would be falling all over themselves to handle the case pro-bono so they could get in the news and go down in history as the guy or girl who established our constitutional right to own dildos.

I maintain, by the way, that the 4th, 5th, and 9th amendments all include a right to bear dildos.

Although Arkansas allows the sale of sex toys as novelties to people 18 or older, I think it's strange that these same people can have legal sex two years sooner, at 16.

Depends on the lawyer and what firm they are in. I imagine there are also firms who wouldn't touch it with a 90-foot pole because it would destroy their "respectability".

I have been meaning to look into this because of going on the road. Many toy packaging still says for novelty use only. So I'm guessing ya. And don't forgot about the sodomy laws, I think there a few left, those will dictate where you can and can't put it and with what gender in some states.

Then there is weird rules with the sex toy parties.

We've got some weird loopholes. There are sex shops but it really depends on the county. There is a drive through only sex shop in my hometown and there is a shop here but there are no phones allowed in the room with toys and I believe they check I.D.s. Insanity.

Sodomy laws have been overturned by the US Supreme Court, so they are not valid in any state regardless of their status on the books.
