In dreams I'm always male and in nightmares I'm always female.

I dream being a boy or a girl, or sometimes I dream I'm a boy but I'm well aware that in real life I don't have what I have in my dream, or sometiems I dream I have the body of a girl but everybody treats me as a man even if dressed very conventionally girly. It depends. Sometimes I dream I'm an animal too. I don't know if it's very healthy, but oh well..

A lot of the time I switch throughout the dream.

I rarely dream as myself, even though I don't think that's supposed to happen. Most of the time I view as a third person and have no gender I'm just me. Other times I'm a character or characters in the dream... I think the latest was some Assassin's Creed version of Batman running through a flooded, zombie infested Gotham idk The characters I dream through or w/e are usually male... when I'm myself I usually have no discernible gender at all, am male or it's switched...
In one dream there were two of me and one had female anatomy and the other one, that I was viewing through, had male... but it kept switching every time I'd look away and look back in the dream.

Woh that's an incredibly interesting dream... I don't think I've ever had anything that oriented toward myself personally... except those dreams of crawling through very tight spaces even though I'm not claustrophobic. Or walking through warped versions of places i used to live... would be nice to have something that... idk "take a good fucking look at yourself buddy cuz you're missing something" kinda dream... idk

I'm just myself in my dream, so I guess that would change once I start medically transitioning.

it's really rarely that i'm aware of my gender in a dream, I feel like I'm always some version of myself mostly in them so I guess I'm still my identified gender. Even in sex dreams where I have the same anatomy as my waking self it doesn't make me feel like I'm not the gender I identify as.

I don't identify as either, but I am almost always male in my dreams. Sometimes cis and sometimes trans*, but always male.

I've dreamed of being a young boy, a cis man, a transman, and completely androgynous...but never as a woman

i usually don't have a sex in a dream, even erotic ones. if i do, i'm male. i'll sometimes have dreams where i'm passing as a guy. not many where i'm a chick. but why would i? i haven't worn a dress (except to rocky horror) in years.

I don't really have a gender in my dreams. I'm just me. But I'm definitely always female. Even when I dream about having penises I'm female.

I have definitely had dreams of myself as my assigned gender, but I've been noticing a lot lately that I've started to dream more of myself as male, the gender I identify as. Still, it depends on the dream. A lot of times I don't have a gender or don't notice my gender in my dreams.

I used to dream of myself as my preferred gender and sex, but as I've began transitioning I now dream of me at my current state of transition.

I dream about myself as many genders. Since I identify as genderfluid/genderquee r, I guess this fits! I often switch genders several times in one dream.

I've never had a different gender in a dream. I sometimes wonder while awake what it is like to be a girl, not in a longing way, just how different life would be...

I'm genderqueer, so dreaming of myself as my preferred gender doesn't involve a vast change in what my body is like in dreams.

Usually my dream body is the same as my waking body, regardless of my gender. Then again, I'm genderqueer and I don't have a "ideal body" that would really work at all in real life.

It depends on the dream. I've been both and am not really sure which I identify more with, if either.

I usually see myself as female or a undefined gender, like a creature of sorts, usually alien-ish.

I usually don't dream of myself as a particular gender. The only time when gender is noticeable is during sex dreams. In those I can be either depending on the dream.

99% of the time I'll dream I'm genderless, which makes sense since I identify on the androgynous/neutrois side of the spectrum. But occasionally I'll dream I'm some character that is either male or female, but these are only dreams when I'm not myself.

Just started reading Freud's Interpretation of Dreams' it's very interesting and I think fitting for this thread. He claims that every single dream has in it evidence of 'wish fulfillment.' That might be related to switching genders, or it might not; you need to get a shrink to analyze it lol.

I didn't vote since I'm not part of the transgendered community, and I apologize if I'm not welcome in this thread but I thought you might be interested... I'm born female and I identify comfortably as heterosexual female. In my dreams however, my identity is very fluid. I have been male, female and other (hard to describe... maybe a hermaphrodite? alien? dual gendered?) in my dreams, sometimes all in the same dream. My personal identity and my gender as well as my sexual preferences (if applicable) have always been very malleable and has changed quickly to suit the circumstances of what I was dreaming. I have always thought this made me a bit of an oddball, as no one I've ever talked to has said that they were anything other than themselves while dreaming. It's never really bothered me much though, because I've always had very rich vivid dreams, some that even felt more "real" than reality. I'm not quite sure what that means about me.... but thought you might be interested to know that there are non transgendered folks that dream of being different genders as well.

I used to dream of myself as either female or male, and I do the same now. Sometimes I dream and my gender isn't specified, which is nice. I don't have one steady representation, though. Maybe because I'm still trying to figure out my gender representation in real life.

Side note, in some of my favorite dreams recently, I've been a male greaser. Motorcycle, slicked-back hair, and a great leather jacket. I love it.

I rarely ever have dreams where I'm a "character," but when I do, I usually change within the dream. I'll start out as a woman but change into a man. It's always been that way even before I knew I was trans*.

I always have dreamed of myself as male even before i knew.
I've only had a few dreams about myself as my physical gender and they usually follow the days where I feel really dysphoric.
Though I'm never called by my preferred gender pronouns which throws me off.
