Trans Family

How many of us out there have a family member who is trans-gender? My bio-father is trans-gender. Sadly we don't really speak these days But I love him dearly and wish he was a bigger part of my life. What about you guys/gals out there with family members who have either transitioned or are in the process? How do you deal? Have you been shut out of their lives at all? (That's what it feels like to me at least.)
