Access to primary literature: I'm here to help!

Contributor: Ghost Ghost
I often notice posts and questions regarding information that people have acquired from news media: television, magazines, blogs, etc. Often, people want clarification, or to simply know if something is true or not. Media often misrepresents data and research to "sell a story", and we must be weary that what we see and hear is based on good evidence and stringent research.

Thus, I have decided to offer a small service to you. I am an ecologist working at a public institution, and have access to a plethora of primary research. If you have a question about health, science (biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics), sociology, psychology, etc., I am willing to do a small literature review for you. If you are looking for a particular article, I may be able to help you find it and make it accessible to you. I am doing this free of charge and as my free time allows.

One of the things I am working on is making research more accessible to "common folk", rather than forcing people to rely on the news media to report findings. At the present time, most research is not easily accessible: people in industry and layfolk must pay money in order to access the primary literature. I believe that we would all be much better off if only we were better informed.

So, please let me know if I can assist you in this way.
