How useful was the mentor program to you? (For students!)

Hi I just joined and requested a mentor because of how this can help tremendously with my writing of reviews. Plus I love the atmosphere here in this community and the mentor program seems like it adds to the community feeling

I have had 2 wonderful mentors. PassionQT and AirenWolf. I learned so much from both of them! Thank you both for helping me through the learning process.

I thought the mentor program was great-I'd written some reviews before enrolling but Coralbell provided really great feedback. Who knew reviewing sex toys could be an art?

I love love love my mentors (even though I'm never really sure if I'm conversing with Alan or Michele)!!! They're so helpful and I'm really learning a lot. They've had amazing patience with me going out of town for quite sometime and then getting sick when I returned home. It's been a great experience. We're working on a review that should be published very soon and I'm super excited about it!

I actually had a very sweet Mentor named Kim! and she taught me some simple yet valuable lessons on punctuation that actually helped me with a major paper final in college last week. So I definitely got something out of it!

Maybe I just didn't get into it enough. I really liked my mentor and I'm glad the program is available, but I don't feel it helped me much, I wanted more criticism.

I've written a few reviews on my own just to get a feel for the system. I'm just waiting for the last of them to go through before requesting a mentor. I think the whole concept is great, very unique to the site. I can't wait to get started!

This helped a lot, I had two mentors, each great in own way! I recently graduated, this improved my rank from 3.9 to 5.2! Enough to make a difference!

I love the mentor program. I recently graduated and I found it extremely helpful! Not only did she help me with how to write a better review, but she helped me with understanding the site functions! I would HIGHLY recommend the mentor program, as well as my mentor Ling! Even if you are an excellent writer, you get constructive criticism to make your writing EVEN BETTER and you gain a friend in the process!

Each mentor has a different outlook on reviews. This at times wont work for everyone. There are those that do go above and beyond for the students.

My first mentor "SexyInTexas" taught me a lot, and was very very helpful. My current mentor "Antipova" is helping me to improve my reviews to a fine edge.
We will probably start working on toys soon, since I seem to do fairly well with DVDs already.

My mentor was LambChop (Oh I hope I got her name right), and I found her to be really helpful. She pointed out a few things that I forgot, and reminded me to state the obvious, even if it is stated on the items page. She's great, quick to reply, and I highly recommend her.

I may try another mentor just to see what others have to offer -- is it okay to take classes with more than one mentor?

It sure is, especially since different mentors have different things they're best at.

Now to just find a mentor that will accept advanced students... It seems to be quite the challenge.

Right now I have mixed feelings. I feel really bad about it because I've been super busy and I don't have another item to review yet and I wouldn't have had time to be able to review it anyway because I've been so busy.

I feel sorta dumb about it because I wrote two reviews on my only other toys BEFORE getting my mentor. And I'm tight enough on cash that I'm really reluctant to spend any of it on something small I know I'm not really interested in. Even if it's just ten bucks on another bottle of lube. I HAVE lube I adore and for a broke ass college student ten bucks can be a lot )=

And of course, that favorite lube of mine isn't on EF, so I can't review it either. Lame-o.

But beyond that, I mean, I like it haha. I enjoyed writing my first review for my mentor and learned more than I expected on just format like, how much was "expected" I guess? I think actually being able to get one on one feedback is really nice.

You can tell just by looking at my reviews. I have two reviews so far, the first one without the mentor program and the one that was submitted today which is SO much better in my opinion. My mentor helped me bring out some of my potential.

Yeah my mentor canceled my program after saying it was fine that I needed to wait a while to review a second thing because I didn't have anything to review at that time.

So, it wasn't particularly beneficial in the scope of things. No.

I've now worked with three mentors. Lambchop, who I mentioned in the first post, and then RedVinylKitty and Stormy. I sign up for a mentor when I start reviewing new types of items. For instance, when I first started reviewing BDSM related toys, I went with RedVinylKitty, and found her to be a great help. Now, I needed help with lingerie reviews, so I went to Stormy -- she has also been a great help.

In some instances, I have been told that my reviews are fine as is, and that my mentor (past, or present) have no recommendations for me. That's fine, as it still gives me the extra boost of confidence that I need when it comes to reviewing new products.

I would love to one day have Lauren, Sam, and/or Aliceinthehole (and a few others, as well) as mentors, as I find their reviews to be extremely high quality. I feel like I could learn a lot from them, despite the fact that I've already been through the program three times.

I'm still in my first class, I love it! It has helped me out so much, I might do another one after this, I haven't really decided.
