Honestly, it depends on the product. A review of a dildo takes me a lot less time than a review of a vibrator, which takes me a lot less time than a review of a kit or package.
It takes me 2 to 3 days to complete my reviews. I don't like rushing into things. I'll take my time to ensure I didn't miss any important points. I also like to reread it a few times, be certain there's no misspelled words, before publishing it.
With some reviews - if I can sit there constantly for that long - it can take me 2 - 3hrs for a basic review.
But most of the time it takes a couple of days for me to finish. Sometimes I will start one and do a couple of hours on it, then come back to it a week later to finish.
Depending on the item it takes me about 45 minutes to a little over an hour. I write out points I do not want to miss on paper and then type up the review. I try to be very thorough and answer other people's questions that they might have when I write.
More like 2-3 days, for me! I plot the basic points of my review in my head as I'm working for a day or two before I start (which pictures I'll want to include, what someone buying the toy might be curious about). Then when I go to write it, it can take from an hour or so to two or three hours (depending on how many random tasks pop up in the middle that pull me away from the computer)... then I let it sit overnight so I can proofread it before publishing.
I can work on a few reviews at a time this way, but I definitely could not pump out a review on the order of minutes.
It usually takes me several days to finish my reviews. Then I go back to them couple of times to revise and add some details. I guess I'm also extra attentive to my reviews, because I'm not a native English-speaker and always worry about grammar and stuff a bit
Between using, reviewing, writing, editing, linking and all the other little things that go into writing a good review I find it takes me a couple days to get one done (not a full 48 hours of course, probably more like 4 - 6hrs). Now if I do a video, it's more like 12 hours - the filming and editing can be a bitch to deal with.
Several hours, usually. I usually take pictures, then upload them to my computer then Flickr. Then I write the review, while adding the pics where they should be inserted, usually on a Word Document, so I can edit it. Then I edit it, and edit it again. Then I wait a bit, then read it over and edit it again. Then I post it, then I usually edit it again.
If I have to do a video at the same time as a written review with pictures, it can take me all day.
I often take the pics the day before, to save some time.
But, I take my time with the reviews. If its something like a lube or other product with chemicals in it, I have to do research on exactly what is in the product. I look up every ingredient and find out what it is and why it was put into the product. I also try to find out if the product was made in the USA or not, even if that information doesn't get put into the review. I like to be thorough.

I have to devote between 4 and 6 hours (of actual computer work - pictures, writing, editing, proofreading, more editing ) to a review. If there is a video too, maybe an hour or two more. I usually will get it completely finished, then sit on it for a day, have my husband proofread one last time for me, then publish it.
I generally write about half of it, and then come back in the next few days and finish/tweak it. Stepping away helps. I have some reviews from months ago that I haven't finished. One can take me anywhere from two days to..forever.
Days for the total process. I'll use the toy the first time and get some key points of note jotted down. Then over the next week or so I'll use it some more and get a better idea about it, and when I feel ready I'll sit down and round out my points into an actual review. The writing process probably takes an hour or two. I like to be very thorough so even after I've finished I may wait a day before submitting to make sure I didn't forget anything.
It depends on a few different things for me. On a few novelty items I've been able to write the review in about 20 minutes. For other things it usually takes me a lot longer. I'll try to get everything I need to take pictures of all together and take a whole lot at once then upload them to my imageshack and go through them as I write the reviews, so I'm not sure how much time pictures add to it. Lingerie reviews can take between 30 minutes and 3 hours to write depending on the complexity of the piece and how much of it I need to describe. Dildos don't take as long as vibrators but it still usually takes me about an hour or so. Sometimes I'll just really in the groove and can manage to write 5 or 6 reviews in 4 hours. It depends.
I'm just wondering what is the average amount of time you spend making a review.
It really depends on how much I like or dislike the product. I tend to start writing, and then end up not liking what I've written so I delete it and then start all over again.
I misread the instructions for how many words/characters are required for each section and only yesterday realized my mistake! I was writing for a minimum of 100-200 words rather than characters! I only noticed my "mistake" when I was having an especially hard time reviewing a dice game last night. While it means my other reviews are a bit "wordy" in places, overall I think my mistake helped to produce a better description than I would have done had I known I was typing roughly twice what was "required"!
That being said, a simple dice game took 20-30 minutes to write up, but the more complex the item(s) is, the longer it takes for me to write abut it!
Definitely longer than an hour. I wish I could do it in 15-30 minutes!! I'd be able to get so many more done!
Even though I'm fairly new to writing reviews, I've kind of developed a process I go through when writing a review. I use the toy many times, and write some basic notes on my experience immediately after each use. Then I go through and write some bullet points of things I know I definiately want people to know, or things I wish I had known before I bought the toy. Then I sit down and actually write sections of the review in a word processor, before going into the review format and fleshing things out some more. I try to take my time and make sure I've covered all my bases. I think the new format is also really helpful because it helps me ensure that I am clear and thorough in my review.
