Wish list and purchasing gifts?

I finally signed up for the mentor program and have a wonderfully helpful mentor! She's super sweet and have offered much advice. She also went above and beyond and purchased a gift for me on my wishlist. I was wondering how common this is and if you have ever gifted somebody you've only 'known' a short period of time or your students. How often have you been gifted? I'm beyond grateful & floored by her generosity! Just curious what everyone else's experience has been with their wish lists!
