Blacklight Beauty review

I've been a fan of the "alt-porn" genre for awhile now, which usually includes titles from Burning Angel and Vivid Alt, so I was totally stoked to receive this movie, which comes from Pulse Pictures. Alt-porn generally includes heavily tattooed, alternative looking performers, most of which have natural bodies, which I prefer. The guys also tend to be hotter than mainstream porn, which makes a lot of alt-porn titles more appealing to women and couples, as well as men.

"Blacklight Beauty" starts off in a seedy men's bathroom with the 'SIN' segment, where performer Allie Sin gives an anonymous guy head while kneeling on the ground. Instead of the typical choke-suck we see so often in adult movies, she teases the cock with her tongue and licks the hood daintily. The lighting is minimalist and dark, using spotlights and flashlights (but no blacklights) instead of the typical bright, flat porn lighting. There is also little or no production sound, just music, which makes the film play out like a long pornographic music video.

The following scene involves a girl-girl pairing on a couch. The girls are hot and the scene is made to look like it could be cut from any classic porn film, with its dense soundtrack and sleazy look. Next is the movie's longest scene, a four-man gangbang featuring performer Faith, who looks a little uncomfortable at times. I found this scene to be the hardest to watch, with Faith sucking each guy off one by one until they cum in her face and mouth. Lit by only a flashlight, it is one of the coolest looking scenes cinematography-wise, but long and boring content-wise.

Several of the later scenes feature a male performer in full clown makeup fucking girls at a strip club after he verbally taunts them and recites witty monologues. Not exactly a turn-on for me, but if you like clown-porn, you may find it hot. Clowny does do one scene with Joanna Angel, one of my favorite female performers and the reigning queen of alt-porn, so that does make up for it.

Two girls, two guys and a girl, gangbangs, oral, anal, vaginal, you name it, it's here. All of the women are hot and natural, wear heavy eye-makeup, and have awesome boots. Those with a boot or shoe fetish will be happily satisfied. The music is cutting-edge and plays well with the fast-paced, experimental editing. The sex ranges from hot to boring, but the emphasis is on the visuals here, so if you appreciate the way a film looks in addition to its content, you'll find "Blacklight Beauty" to be a treat. This would be a good porn title to play in the background at clubs, parties, or when you and your partner want something to watch without being disturbed by the sounds of the performers.

This set also includes a second bonus disc with deleted scenes, trailers, and performer interviews, which I always find fascinating. Joanna Angel mentions in her interview that "you have to be really dominant in your head in order to be really comfortable with being submissive", which is a great point for anyone involved with S/M. Faith seems worn out from her gangbang scene and Charlotte Stokely longs for a day when people no longer compare her to Rollergirl from "Boogie Nights." Interesting stuff.

I would definitely recommend "Blacklight Beauty" for those who want something a little different and more artistic than the regular old porn fare, especially fans alt-porn. Though many of the scenes are targeted towards the male viewer, women will appreciate some of it as well, with ten different scenes to choose from and over two hours of porn.
