Janine loves Jenna review
This DVD marks the first-ever pairing of two of porn's biggest stars, Janine and Jenna Jameson. The DVD claims to be Club Jenna's "biggest movie ever", with expensive sets, costumes, and big-budget production values. Even the DVD packaging is elaborate, with a fold-out inside that has six postcards with quotes from the film's director, Justin Sterling, about the making of the movie. It also includes a bonus disc with behind-the-scenes footage, bloopers, and extra scenes.
The premise of "Janine Loves Jenna" is that Jenna is sent to Hell, where she is guided around by Janine, who must help Jenna find her way out. It's a very loose plot at that, as the dialogue is very sparse and not very well-written. The film starts out with Jenna and real-life (ex-) husband Justin Sterling arguing in a living room. Jenna is then shown bleeding from the wrists in a bathtub (shades of "Devil in Miss Jones" here?) and then suddenly arriving in Hell, which it turns out, ain't a bad place to be. Jenna immediately winds up in an all-girl three-way with Janine and redheaded Justine Joli. The sex is a little slow-paced and ho-hum here, but the set design is pretty cool, if you like fantasy sex.
Next Jenna and Janine are caught giving blow-jobs to two masked and strange men in a rain-soaked alleyway. The CG effects are in full-force here, with the men's faces appearing as fire... like demons! It's pretty appropriate for porn, where the objective is to show as little of the men as possible. In the scene, all we see of them is their cocks, with the rest of their bodies covered in full-body costume. Not exactly hot for a gal like me who enjoys seeing the male performers in porn, especially if they are super-sexy. Jenna and Janine are smokin' hot, though, but both possess ginormous fake boobs that you may find yourself obsessed or disgusted by, depending on your taste. I found myself debating who had the better boob job and in my opinion, it's Janine. Jenna's are way to big for her small frame.
It's all about the visuals here, and I'm not talking about the performers. The costumes, sets, special effects, and editing are what keep this movie flowing. If you enjoy porn that looks like a highly stylized music video, then you'll love "Janine Loves Jenna". If amateur porn is more your thing, with natural looking performers just going at it, then this is NOT the movie for you. There's nothing way out there in terms of sex acts. There's a hint of anal in some scenes and Jenna and Janine do stick lit candles up their asses at one point, but otherwise, it's pretty much straight-up standard porn fare.
I was expecting a lot from this movie, given the huge star power of the performers, but it came up a bit short. There wasn't much sexual variety or even a decent plot-line to speak of. Even the extras on the bonus disc were somewhat disappointing. It is visually stunning, however, and might be a nice purchase for those who like the fantasy element of porn, like I mentioned before. As Jenna says at the end "This is my Journey into Hell", so perhaps Jenna's Hell is the one we all want to go to.
