A little equestrian play keeps the doctor away—or perhaps I heard that quote wrong? Well, whatever the case, using riding crops for a punishment or pain-giving implement certainly is exciting; and even if it does not keep the doctor away, it sure as hell does bring a lot of pleasure to both the person wielding the crop and to the person on the other end of the stick. The Narrow Tip Crop is a long crop bearing a thin crop tip that gives a good amount of pain and a hard sting, and is great for both equestrian scenes and rougher BDSM scenarios.

It comes packaged in EdenFantasys' regular, discreet shipping boxes, with a few bits of padding wrapped around it to keep it from knocking around. Since the crop is so long, it came to me in one of those triangular prism shipping boxes, which its length just barely fit in. If you prefer to have your orders ship together (I personally do), know that this crop will come on its own. There were no tags that came with it, just the crop inside of the shipping box.

Now the fun part: the actual tip of the crop. The tip has a very narrow shape, starting out at a width of 3/4” nearest the shaft and ending up at just about 1/2” at the very end—very thin, indeed. The crop's tip is made of a firm leather of average thickness that's folded over and sewn to create a thickness of 1/8". At the end of the tip is the rounded over piece with a small space in between the layers of leather—this loop is 3/4” in length, and it does not flatten out. From where the leather is attached to the shaft of the crop to the tip, it is 3 1/4”, but the usable length is a substantial 1 3/4”.

The leather that it's made of is not flimsy at all, which I was actually hoping for—flimsier crops generally give more of a sting—to add to its thin design. It's actually extremely firm, so if you try to swing the crop back and forth before using it on a partner, you'll see that the tip stays in one place. In one of EdenFantasys' pictures, it shows the tip bend over a bit—I am assuming that, perhaps, over time the tip loosens up, but for the length that I've had it, it has not at all.

I will note here that the shaft is made of a nylon webbing, which is wrapped around most likely a plastic material—this will not rip or tear, as the webbing is very taught.

In total length, the crop is 36 1/2" (a little over three feet!), which is not ideal for people who are short, like me, or who have hand problems such as arthritis. The use of this crop is actually a bit awkward because the length is so long in comparison to the small, short tip. It's better for long-range play as opposed to closer encounters, like cropping someone while they're sitting in your lap or while you're having intercourse with them. If you have a long enough arm or are tall enough, these may be easy feats for you.

There are a few things that I did not like about the crop, which I think could have been done a bit better—the use of the rubber for the handle and the wrist strap, as well as the firmness of the crop. I overlook the firmness of the tip, because that's something that may go away, but I truly do not like the rubber handle—I felt that it was a bit scratchy and uncomfortable to hold. It did not, however, have a disgusting smell that some rubber does, and it was also very nicely shaped and designed. The handle has a crosshair design and a little ball at the end to give the appearance of leather, and the rubber wrist strap is also very convincing with its design.

The Narrow Tip Crop is a tough riding crop, meant for those "pain sluts" out there (you know who you are!) who enjoy getting whipped and smacked with implements that give a stinging feeling—and man, does this one sting! With its thin crop tip, this riding crop is not one that plays around—its serious little piece of leather gives a hard sting when used. If you're not someone who loves pain, or who has a partner that loves receiving those stinging sensations, then this crop definitely is not for you—it gives it hard, and it gives it rough.

Sadly, I was hoping that this crop would become my favorite, but it isn't. Because of my height and the tip, I really did not enjoy using it—it was more of a pain in the ass (yes, very funny) than it was a pleasure. As for the receiving end, it does give that hard, rough sting that most masochists (or "pain sluts") enjoy. The sensations were described as "almost like a smacking feeling, but more isolated to one area, making them more intense."
