Use

The Wisteria G-spot vibrator by BMS Enterprises is designed to be a G-spot vibrator, but truly excels as a clitoral vibe for those who like a lot of power. It can also be used to stimulate other erogenous zones on the body including the anus, but is too small to be inserted there safely.

Material / Texture

Made from non-porous hard ABS plastic with RubberCote, this toy contains no phthalates or latex and has a silky smooth texture. It glides over the skin easily and requires very little (if any) additional lube to insert.

Design / Shape / Size

Although the shaft is a little under 3/4" wide, the end of the Wisteria curves into a 1" wide bulbous end that allows you to stimulate a wider area. It's completely seamless, and features a mildly pointed tip for easier insertion.

With only a 6-1/2" overall length, this discreet vibe is no trouble to hide and easily fits into a purse or travel bag.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Wisteria is powered by 2 AAA batteries which aren't included, and inserting them is a bit different than with most toys. When you unscrew the bottom cap you will see a gray plastic cartridge that you need to remove from the shaft to put the batteries in. This cartridge can be difficult to remove and tricky to get the batteries into, but once in place it serves to hold the batteries tightly to help reduce noise. You may also need to adjust the battery contacts to get it working.

A push button on the base lets you cycle through the three speeds of vibration, and then turns the toy off once you reach the third one. The first speed is a gentle soothing vibration that makes a whispery sound that might be heard through the blankets, but definitely not through a closed door. Level two is a strong vibration that can easily be felt anywhere on the body and is still quiet enough not to be heard from outside the room. The third level produces intense vibrations that are numbing to the hand and other body parts, and might be heard from outside a closed door as a high-pitched hum. The bonus to that third level is that it is strong enough to provide stimulation through blue jeans.

The vibrations are more "thuddy" at the lowest level, but more "buzzy" on high and, though concentrated in the bulb, the short length of the toy makes it to where you feel the vibrations down the entire length of the shaft.

The Wisteria's waterproof design works well enough that you don't have to be afraid to submerge it for extended play in a bath or pool, though the noise is amplified somewhat under water so there is no doubt that a toy is in use.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning this toy is easy; just use antibacterial soap and water, and you're good to go. You can also wipe it down with with isopropyl alcohol. However, neither of those methods actually sterilizes the toy, so we wouldn't suggest sharing it with anyone you aren't fluid bonded with unless you intend to pop it in a condom.

You can use water-based or silicone-based lubes with the Wisteria.

Experience

Alan says:
Call me jaded, but my experience with this toy was not so great. First there was that battery cartridge thing. It did not come out easily, and if Michele didn't have her long tiny fingernails to pry with, we'd probably still be trying to get it out. The batteries had to be snapped into place in said cartridge, and that was another not-so-easy task. Once the batteries are in it, the weight of them does make it easy to remove the cartridge with just a good hard shake or two, but without the batteries it's a pain.

Then there was the fact that the toy wouldn't work at all at first. I decided to check things out rather than return it and found that there are two tiny metal contacts on the rim of the battery compartment opening, which had to be pried up with a sewing pin before the toy would work. Not so bad if it was a one-time deal, but Michele takes the batteries out of our toys every time she washes them, and I've had to fix those metal bits twice already. As tiny as they are, I can only guess at how many times I'll be able to do that before they break.

I'd like to say that the difficulties that we had with the battery contacts are just a fluke, but I don't think that's the case. We have a different toy from the same manufacturer, and have had the exact same problem with it, so I cannot in good conscience give this toy high marks. Add to that the difficult battery insertion, and I'm just not impressed. Once it's working, the vibrations do feel good around the anus and perineum, but it's really not worth all the trouble.

Michele says:
This toy is an excellent clitoral vibrator that never fails to get me off, but for me personally it's not a good G-spotter. There's something about the shape that just doesn't seem to hit the right spot for me, and the smaller size makes it difficult to maneuver inside without sitting up and crunching over. All in all I think that if you like strong clit vibes you'll love this one, but there are much better G-spot vibrators out there.
Follow-up commentary
Not that it was our favorite vibe to begin with, but we just realized that we'd never posted a follow-up on it so thought we'd post one now. The metal contacts continued to be a problem for the entire time we had this vibrator, and less than 6 months after we got it the tabs finally did break. Too bad really, because it was fairly decent for clitoral use, but the quality of construction was just crap.

I just reviewed another toy by this company as a descriptive review. I found some similarities especially with the controls and unnecessarily intense vibrations. If this is a descriptive review you should change the format a bit from your regular reviews to fit the guidelines better, if not...even better review!
