It Feels Like I'm Pooping

This is a pretty standard dual-stimulation vibrator - nothing fancy - and as a result, it does the trick but really isn't that great overall. The angle of the insertable portion always makes me feel like I'm pooping, and the toy is loud. The vibrations are good, but that's not enough to make me recommend this toy; there are far better ones out there.

Use

The Personal Pleasurizer is one of California Exotics' most classic and well-loved vibrators, having been a bestseller for quite a while. It's a dual-stimulation vibe - not quite a rabbit, but it stimulates both the G-spot and the clitoris, making it a good option for someone who likes a lot of stimulation.

Because the clitoral part is significantly wider than the vaginal part, this toy would also be safe for anal insertion.

This toy is pretty slim so it will work well for most beginners to penetration, whereas more advanced masturbators may feel let down by it.

Material / Texture

I was excited to try this toy because it's the first time the Pleasurizer has been made out of a body-safe material - silicone, as opposed to its predecessors which are made from thermoplastic rubber. Silicone is a much better choice because it's nonporous, so it doesn't collect bacteria, and also because it doesn't contain toxic phthalates. I applaud California Exotics for taking the hint that consumers are demanding body-safe toys instead of cheap, shoddy ones. It is way overdue, frankly.

This particular formulation of silicone is nice: not too much drag, only the subtlest of silicone-y scents, and easy to clean, as silicone usually is.

The base of the toy, where you'll be holding onto it while using it, is made of hard plastic, another body-safe material.

There is no texture on the insertable portion, but the clitoral arm has a lot of nubby texture on it, intended to stimulate the clitoris. I don't really like texture on my clit but I found that it didn't bother me on this toy.

Design / Shape / Size

The intended use of the Personal Pleasurizer is to insert the vaginal arm all the way, so that its flat head pushes up against your G-spot and the clitoral arm presses against your clit. In theory, this seems fairly straightforward. However - and I don't know if this is an issue with my anatomy or with the toy - when I actually insert the toy, the clitoral arm doesn't come into contact with my clit at all unless I angle the toy severely downward.

Unfortunately, this angling results in me feeling like I need to poop throughout the time that I'm using the toy - especially if I gently thrust it in and out while using it. I guess some people would enjoy that sensation, but I'm not one of them; I found it terribly distracting, though I was able to sort of "tune it out" once I realized that it wasn't going to go away.

The Pleasurizer is a good size for a beginner to penetration, at only 1" in diameter at the widest point of the insertable part. When lubed, it glides in easily without warm-up. However, I'm sure that the Pleasurizer would be a disappointment for someone who likes a lot of girth or length, because this toy has neither.

This toy is not discreet at all, as it's pretty clearly a sex toy. It would probably be fairly easy to hide away for travel though.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Pleasurizer's vibrations are controlled by a single button on the bottom of the base. This button cycles through the toy's three speeds. It can be a little awkward to angle my wrist in such a way that I can press the button while using the toy.

The vibrations are fairly strong for a toy that runs on batteries (this one takes two AAs). I was surprised at how strong they are. They actually rival some of my rechargeable toys, though not the stronger ones. (If you want a toy with a similar function/shape but with more power, I'd suggest the Lelo Ina 2.)

I have pretty high standards for vibration strength - my favorite vibes are the Eroscillator, Wahl, We-Vibe Tango, and Jimmyjane Form 2 - and this vibrator can get me off, so that's an achievement, I suppose.

One very annoying thing about this toy's controls is that the vibrations turn off while the button is pushed down. So if you're on speed 2 and you want to click up to speed 3 because you're about to reach orgasm, you'll have to contend with the vibrations completely stopping while you press the button. If you do it very quickly, this might not be a huge distraction, but on the other hand, it could kill your momentum completely.

In terms of noise level, the toy can definitely be heard pretty clearly from the same room or from an adjacent room with thin walls or an open door, but I think if you had thicker walls and your door was closed, it wouldn't be too audible from the outside. But it's definitely not a whisper-quiet toy by any means, so if you need to stay quiet for the sake of roommates or something, I'd skip this toy and go for a We-Vibe Tango instead.

The Pleasurizer is apparently waterproof. I haven't tried it in water but I trust that it would be fine, because the construction of the battery chamber seems pretty solid.

Care and Maintenance

As with any silicone toy, soap and water are fine for everyday cleanings of this toy. For more intensive cleanings (e.g. after using the toy anally), wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution will do the trick.

This toy should not be used with silicone-based lubes because the material will react with the lube and may become permanently sticky.

Silicone toys tend to collect lint, so I always recommend storing them in individual plastic baggies to keep them clean while not in use.

Thanks for the review!! I'm sooo excited for this one. I've seen the others like it, except made of lower quality materials, and I've always wanted to buy one for the shape, but I just couldn't get over the materials. And now I don't have to!

Thanks for the review... Won't lie, I'm slightly amused by you saying that it makes you feel the need to poop.

This made me laugh a little! I've tried the others so I'd be willing to get one of the silicone ones if Eden decides to make them available.
