G-spot vibrator discontinued
by Orion

Oh, Sweet Heart...

This review has a lot of 'buts'. The Velvet Sweet Heart has slowly warmed my heart, but not completely. It has a unique concept for a controller, but the body of the vibe lost some points in my book. You'll find the vibration patterns heavenly, but only if all your roommates and anyone living within a half-mile of you is deaf or isn't home.

Use

The Velvet Sweet Heart is a vibrator designed for g-spot stimulation but can be used almost anywhere on the body including clitoris, nipples, and testicles. It can be used to stimulate around the anus, but do not insert it anally, as it doesn't have a flared base.

The Sweet Heart can be used for solo play or with a partner and can be used in conjunction with other toys such as a dildo or anal toy.

Material / Texture

The Sweet Heart and its controller are made of polyurethane (PU) coated plastic, in a brilliant blue. It didn't have any taste or smell to it when I received it. The PU coating is not as soft as other toys I have in the same material, but it still has the same "suede-ness" to it. The PU has a slight drag to it when dry but slides against skin quite nicely with a little bit of lube.

Design / Shape / Size

The Sweet Heart is designed like a large bullet with a tip that curves into a point. It's about 4 inches long with a diameter of about 1 1/4 inch. There are three sections to the vibrator. The tip is glued onto the main body, and the cap at the bottom screws onto the other end to house the batteries. The connections where the pieces meet aren't smooth and create little ledges that can be hard to clean.

The bullet is attached to the controller by a black cord about 2 feet long. The controller is just a little heart with an on/off button and a button that scrolls through the functions.

Although the bullet part of the Sweet Heart is larger than most other bullets, the controller is much smaller, so it requires little space for storage and travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Sweet Heart runs on 2 AAA batteries housed inside the bullet. From the feel of it, the vibrations are located near the curve of the tip. There are 10 different functions: high, medium, low, an escalating flutter, pulses in 4 different speeds/intensities, and a low vibe-pulse hybrid. Either button can turn the vibrator on, just the power button picks up at the pattern that was last used and the cycling button brings you to the next when it turns on. The controls are very easy to use, and the power button can be used to turn it off immediately if needed. It would have been nice if there was an option to cycle backwards through the functions.

The Sweet Heart is very loud. This is a toy I probably won't use unless I have the house all to myself.

The Sweet Heart is waterproof. Upon first glance, I didn't see any evidence of this, besides a very thin rubber ring at the battery compartment. I decided to put it to the sink test and it actually passed.

Care and Maintenance

PU coated plastic can be cleaned with warm water and soap, or an antibacterial toy cleaner. Since the Sweet Heart is waterproof, you can wash it in the sink without worry about water getting inside. Just make sure the battery compartment is closed tightly.

It is compatible with water and silicone based lubes, but the package insert warns against using oil based lubes.

The Sweet Heart should be fine being stored next to other plastic toys.

Packaging

The Sweet Heart comes in a thin cardboard box with a naked blonde on the front. (It seems with every toy I get from Orion, the women get more and more naked. I digress.) The box has some general information about the vibrator in several different languages. Inside the box is a two-piece plastic tray which houses the vibrator. The bottom piece holds the vibrator and another piece sits on top; I saw little point in the top piece and thought it was a waste of materials. The toy also comes with a package insert wish information generic to all Orion's toys. The box could be used for storage, but might be a bit bulky for most storage situations. I will not be keeping the box for storage since I have more compact options.

Experience

It took me quite some time to warm up to this toy. I was unimpressed with the quality and I found it painful to insert because of the curved tip. Even while using it externally I couldn't get the vibrations to pinpoint right on my clit, which was so frustrating because the vibration patterns are really cool. I had to think outside the box a little, but I finally got it to work for me by pressing the outside of the curve against my clit. Now we're talkin'.

As always, your results my vary.

Thanks for the review! I had been looking at this a few days ago. It's sooo cute, but I'm pretty sure it won't perform well for me. Glad to get a little insider info. Winking
