Women who are very sensitive, climax easily, and enjoy buzzy sensations in addition to a somewhat discreet toy may enjoy this product. Those who require more intense and deep rumbly vibrations may want it for warm up. It is a cute and fun addition to a toy collection, if high register vibrations with more gentle power works well for you.
There is a faint plastic type odor to the toy when it is new, mostly on the rubbery bristle business end. I have a highly developed sense of smell and most people probably wouldn’t be able to detect the smell. It gets better as it is washed, and one cannot smell the odor when the toy is in use. The product description said it was simply "plastic" but I contacted a lovely lady from Screaming O named Conde, and in less than 12 hours she got back to me with the goods; the body is plain plastic, but the "brush" part of the toy is "latex and phthalate free SEBS silicone, which is a silicone elastomer blend."
I usually like textured toys, and the bristles (which are soft and silicone blend) did feel very good, but the the mild vibrations were somewhat weaker than what I personally need.
Those who enjoy softer vibrations along with mild but somewhat progressive texture may enjoy this toy quite a bit.
The “brush” is about 4 1/4 inches long and about 2 3/4 inches in circumference
with a brush head about as big around as a nickel. The bristles, which are made of rubbery feeling plastic, are tapered to different lengths to “tickle, tease and please.”
The toy’s handle is simple to hold, and at first resembles a pocket rocket in function. The brush did not come with any instructions except a warning not to not actually use it with any cosmetics, so it is not a dual use tool. It is a sex toy and massager, and should not be used for applying make up in any way. (The title of the review is a joke.)
However, the toy says “The Screaming O” on the handle, which makes the product less discreet than if it had a less erotic name on it.
I think most people wouldn't notice the name unless they look very closely.
The vibrator takes 3 watch batteries, which may be hard to replace and cause the toy to be weak in the vibration department. The toy does come loaded with three batteries and there are three extra in the box. The batteries are put in in sequence (one on top the other) into the handle of the product, which then closes a half turn. The toy is waterproof.
The black and red design is pretty and if it didn’t have the words “The Screaming O” written on it and might be more easily passed off as something other than a sex toy. I would recommend using a small plastic bag to store it in and perhaps keeping it in one’s cosmetic case, if one requires secrecy. The plastic bag will prevent your make up from getting on the toy, but the toy will be disguised by similar products in your make up case.
The controls are on the bottom of the brush. One works as an easy to press button
and then moves through 4 settings:
~Low steady vibration,
~Medium steady vibration,
~slightly stronger medium vibration and
~“Random” pattern vibrational series in which the sound of each setting is almost musical. I found this pattern of random lengths and strengths of vibrations interesting (as well as entertaining, as it was slightly melodic) but it would have been more enjoyable if the vibrations had been stronger.
The toy is on the fairly loud side for a Pocket Rocket and as the vibration gets more intense the tone goes up in range. All four settings need to be gone through to turn the toy off. There is no on, off or lock setting on this toy. The tones this toy makes are almost comically musical; it can be heard if used under covers, but not through a closed door. This would also be a good toy for someone who doesn’t have privacy and needs very discreet toys that look like something other than actual sex toys.
I found the vibrations fairly weak.
I then compared it to the Ultimate Massager Pocket Rocket by Nasstoys and realized that the Screaming O’s vibrations were about 10% to 25% of the Ultimate Massager’s strength. Also, the vibrations of the Screaming O Brush were fairly buzzy, despite the soft silicone blend bristles, which probably dampened down the buzziness of the toy. If this toy had been pure hard plastic, I assume the vibrations would have been of even higher register and “buzziness.”. As I prefer low register rumbly toys, I did not experience anything close to climax while using the toy.
The package says the batteries are good for up to 8 hours of use.
I washed the toy is hot running water and soap after cleaning it with spray toy cleaner the first time. As the bristles can trap body secretions, lubricant, semen etc, I suggest washing the brush head and handle very well after every use in hot water and soap. Toy cleaner can be used until you can get the toy into the bathroom to deep clean it after every use. The depth of the bristles may prevent you from using toy wipes to clean this completely.
This “bristles” pick up lint and dust like crazy. This picture was taken only about 2 minutes after being cleaned, after only being in my bathrobe pocket long enough to bring it into another room for photographing.
One may want to store it in a cloth or plastic bag to prevent lint, dust and hair attraction. (I assure you, I keep my toys very clean.)
The product comes in a nice looking black and red package.
There is an outer box, with a blister pack which contains the vibrator and the extra batteries. It was a bit difficult to get the large head of the toy, encased in plastic out of the box without ripping the box but the plastic encasing the toy was molded around it and was made of two piece of plastic and card board backing that were easily slid apart to take the toy out. I had to be careful, as I dropped the extra batteries several times while taking the toy out of the package. There was no bag or case for the toy, and no directions with the exception of telling the user not to use the toy for cosmetics.
The toy is packaged nicely to make an interesting and somewhat discreet gift presentation.
As I said, I contacted The Screaming O company and was delighted to receive added information from a representative from the company who was so prompt and helpful. I have never had such quick and kind response from a company before. Most sex toy companies will get back to you, but I felt the service provided by Conde at The Screaming O was exemplary.
I did have some reservations about the toy and was not able to reach orgasm with it. But, with my "Clit O Steel" this is not an uncommon reaction. Few toys, short of the Wahl or the Hitachi can bring me to orgasm, but again Conde again came to the rescue helped me learn more about the toy and how to use it to the best advantage.
Conde gave me a tip that really is helpful. She says, "the strongest vibrations happen when you use the side of the toy...then you can roll it up onto the tip and play around with the different length and width bristles to get all sorts of differing sensations." This trick does help the toy seem stronger. Keep this in mind while using this toy.
Comments
if that brush head was made out of bristles it just might fool a lot more people
WINNING! lol
weird
They should make an actual brush with a vibrating handle.
hmmm.
Thanks Conde for the info!
Hi everyone - Conde here from Screaming O. After looking over some of the comments, I thought I'd add one and give you a bit of the idea behind this toy
First, when we were thinking of doing a makeup brush we definitely did NOT want actual 'bristles' because they would be impossible to keep sanitary (gross!)
So, we used the idea of the silicone bbq basting brush and tweeked it to look like a makeup brush.
The "bristles" have different lengths and widths to give a variety of sensations and textures for use on every area of the body.
It is true that the Makeup Brush isn't as powerful as our Lipstick or Mascara or Bullet (if you only like strong vibrations, please get one of those instead!) This one is meant for the people who are more sensitive and like softer sensations.
You are going to get the strongest vibrations from using the SIDE of the brush or even taking the "bristle head" off the brush and using it alone.
When you are ready for some different stimulation, roll the brush up onto the bristles and swirl them around on different areas of your body (or your partners body) to really stimulate and tease.
Hope this is helpful!
weird
This is different-looking, to be sure.
The texture looks bizarre..
If it's supposed to be discreet, maybe it shouldn't say "The Screaming O" right on it...
i like that theres a whole series of these makeup related vibes ha
Cool looking
Might try it.
Looks neat!
not believable in any way.
great idea, wish it was a little better though.
kinda cool
this looks so fake. :0
Ahh nooo..
Hmm... Not feeling it with this one.
Does it come with a cap? It seems like it would be a dust magnet...
Interesting.
Uhhh, it blatantly says "The Screaming O" in the side of it. How exactly is that discreet?
How is this discreet?
Interesting idea.
Odd head shape.
interesting
totally not discreet. -_-"
I think the line is a great theory but I'm not to sure about the actual make not only are watch batteries a pain in the butt, but the fact it has screaming o on the side makes it s.cream out toy. I'm not to sure plus although it looks like a make up brush anyone can see it isn't so it really isnt that hidden
interesting?
Watch batteries require special effort to find. AAs or AAAs, you can just keep in stock, but there are zillions of sizes of watch batteries. When they run out, you have to take out the batteries and get out a magnifying glass to read the number to know what to order as a replacement. And then they're all fiddly to replace. Those are my reasons for disliking them.
huh
Doesn't it sort of defeat the purpose to have "SCREAMING O" printed on the side..?
is everyone just turned off by watch batteries because they don't last long or because they don't give a toy much power? this wouldn't be powerful enough for me but i think this toy line is a cute idea!
Weird and watch batteries? No thanks, I'll pass.
interesting..
weird...
this looked so promising until I saw watch batteries
This is too cute
Hmm..
I like that it's waterproof!
This looks interesting! lol!
NEAT!! WUD LOOK GOOD IN MY PURSE LOL!!
what
Not sure about this one.
Interesting....
This is certainly unique!
This one is less discreet...
HOW COOL IS THIS!
How... odd?
Too hilarious!
Very curious about this one.
Cute design.
Whoa it sounds cool!
This made me laugh. Its really not discreet
Doesn't look that discreet to me. It's far from the appearance of a normal makeup brush and has "The Screaming O" scrawled across it..
awesome
This is cute
That definitely would not get mistaken for an actual makeup brush.
Interesting
I like the idea, but this is kind of weird looking. I agree it would have been better if it was an actual brush.
OMG CUTE!
I'd rather it be an actual brush with a vibrator in the butt end of it
