Are You There, Vibrator? It's Me, Vibrations.

This is a discreet toy, but the vibrations are super lackluster. The quality is a bit lacking, as well, making this toy discreet from a distance but not long-lasting.

Pros
Very discreet.

Very weak vibrations due to a poor vibration dispersal method.

Use

The Screaming O Makeup Brush Vibe (from their Studio Collection) is meant to be a discreetly styled multi-function vibrator. Made for those of us with the need for secrecy and privacy, this toy will be easily interpreted as a cosmetic brush from afar (though it loses a bit of its discretion upon further inspection). Intended to "please, tickle, and tease," this toy would be the perfect addition to a woman's makeup bag. This toy is meant for external stimulation only, and I would NOT recommend even considering this for anal play, given how easily it comes apart.

Material / Texture

This vibrator is made of plastic, and it has a faintly plastic odor. The handle of the toy is made of plastic, and it's mostly smooth. The portion of the toy that twists off for battery insertion has an upraised bump that makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold (an unfinished edge that can be filed off easily). The head of the vibrator (where the 'brushes' are) has two different textures, a hard plastic layer surrounding the soft, pliable nubs of the head. The nubs of the brush are very flexible, and can be pulled before they snap back down--think it as being like a koosh ball! However, I don't recommend doing this because you can loosen the glue that holds the nubby head to the vibrator and thus destroy your toy.

Design / Shape / Size

As I explained earlier, this is designed to look like a makeup brush. It's quite petite, measuring in at 4 1/4" inches long--small enough to fit in a pocket, purse or drawer.

Up close, this toy isn't as discreet as it could be; the vibrator clearly reads, "The Screaming O" on it--not so discreet. It's also not very easily mistaken for a makeup brush up close, because of the plastic nubby bristles.

The batteries are inserted easily: the bottom half of the handle twists off, and you can insert the included watch batteries (AG-13). The toy also comes with a spare set of batteries. In the inside of the battery cavity is a plastic insert telling you which way the batteries should be inserted--but the toy doesn't work without that piece of plastic, so don't toss it out!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy is controlled by a power/function button on the bottom of the toy. It has three speeds, and a fourth pulsation pattern (it cycles through a totally random pattern including pulses, revs and solid periods). The vibrations are mostly focused in the head of the toy, though they can be felt throughout it. The farther away from the head you get, the weaker the vibrations. It's easy to change the speed in-use, but in order to get back to a lower intensity you've got to cycle through them all again.

The vibrations are a bit weak, but this is lovely to provide stimulation to sensitive zones like the nipples. It didn't do much for me as a clitoral vibrator, unfortunately, because the vibrations were too weak for me. When I used the brush head against my clitoris, the vibrations were too diffused to provide adequate stimulation, and when I used the side of the brush head on my clit (where the vibrations were more intense) it was a little bit uncomfortable because the side plastic was hard.

The vibrator is very quiet, easily masked by music.

The Makeup Brush is also waterproof, and can be used in the bathtub or shower--and it passed my stick-it-in-the-sink-and-see-if-it-lives-after-15-minutes test.

Care and Maintenance

Plastic is easy to clean and maintain, as it can easily be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or by wiping down with isopropyl alcohol. Plastic is somewhat porous, so I would not recommend sharing this with another person unless you are fluid bonded. This toy is also not anal safe, and should not be used as such.

Packaging

This toy was packaged in simple cardboard and plastic. It was good for gift-giving, but poor for storage as I had to demolish it in order to remove the toy.

Personal comments

After a few sessions of yanking at the head like it was a koosh ball, I accidentally beheaded it. I can still stick it back on, so no lasting permanent harm has been done, it appears.
Follow-up commentary
Well, after its unfortunate beheading, I did toss it out, since I was always worried it would fall off at an inopportune time. If I'd liked it more, I probably would've picked up a spare, but this one just isn't a big loss for me.
