The Tristan 1.5 is presented by Vixen Creations (manufacturer) and EdenFantasys

Made out of Vixen's marvelous "ordinary" silicone, the Tristan 1.5 is soft and a little squishy. It has a smooth finish that's about halfway between shiny and matte, a good compromise between a slick finish and a lube-holding matte one. The Tristan 1.5 has a swirled finish made up of 3 different silicone colors (white, purple and black) and two, yes two, different sizes of glitter - the fine iridescent style and a larger shiny type.

The soft, plushy silicone is great for insertion because you can't poke too hard, and once inserted it is nice because you can clench down on it just a bit. Because it's 100% platinum silicone the Tristan 1.5 is completely body-safe, doesn't taste or smell like anything after it is washed, and is easy to take care of. Note that there was a bit of a smell from the manufacturing process, but it went away after being washed.

If you can take it the Tristan 1.5 might very well be the best of the line. The 1-3/4" size is right in between the Tristan 1 and Tristan 2 plugs, and the 1.5 offers just a little bigger size difference between the body and neck than either of its siblings. The slightly larger size difference and long neck have a purpose - during use I found that the Tristan 1.5 seemed to stay in a bit better than either of the other two sizes. The other benefit of the 1.5's size is that it is big enough for Vixen to offer a vibrating version if you like a vibrating plug.

If you're a guy you'll be happy to note that the inch and a half long neck puts the bulge right at the prostate when the Tristan 1.5 is fully inserted, adding to the stimulation. The downside of this is that the longer neck is put in at the expense of body length, making the Tristan 1.5 reach its maximum diameter only 1.5" from the tip. This means that you should wait to use the Tristan until you're very comfortable with toys in the 1.5" range, and make sure to take plenty of warm-up time. The short body length does have a plus, as the Tristan 1.5 takes up less space in the rectum than many other similarly sized plugs, so it's less likely to trigger a "gotta go" reflex.

Many people are concerned when they see the pointed tips on the base. If the Tristans were made from a stiffer silicone then yes, the points would be a problem during use. The soft silicone makes all the difference, as I have never had a problem with the bases being uncomfortable on any of my Tristans. Note that the bases are still large, and therefore not the best choice for a situation where discretion is needed.

The Tristan 1.5 works well as a plug. I found it the best at staying in of all the Tristans, and the base and long neck combine to make this one of the more dynamic plugs on the market to wear while doing other things. As you move around, get up and sit down the plug moves around inside you, the base picking up your body's movements. While the stimulation is a bit more subtle, it's always there. It's not merely a long-term wear plug, though. The wide neck makes the Tristan 1.5 a good choice for a warm-up toy if you're interested in something to open you up. The flexible silicone and easy-grip base works well for insertion, as you can grab the base and "wiggle" the Tristan into you with little circles.

Because it is made out of silicone, taking care of the Tristan 1.5 is easy. It can be used with almost any lube, including all lubes with a water or oil base. Silicone lubes might work, but you do need to carefully test a small amount on the base to ensure that it will not react with the plug's silicone. After use you can clean the Tristan in many ways. A quick wash in soap and water is probably the easiest, but you can also use toy cleaner or even run it through the dishwasher. Should you want to sanitize it for use with another partner you can, as the Tristan 1.5's silicone can be put in 10% bleach solution or boiling water after washing to kill any lingering bugs.

Storage is easy, just keep it away from sharp-edged things and other toys that can melt. While Vixen's silicone doesn't degrade, other toys can turn to goo nearby causing a unpleasant deposit. Because of silicone's durability you can try out many different solvents to remove a melted toy should this happen, but it's best to keep the jelly and TPR separate. You will want to keep the Tristan 1.5 away from lint or hair, as it readily picks up things on its surface.

The Tristan 1.5 comes in Vixen's standard plastic cylinder. This keeps the Tristan safe during shipment and can be reused indefinitely to keep the Tristan safe in storage, though it does take up more room than storing the plug in a bag or naked in a toy box. The Tristan series of plugs comes with a brief insert by Tristan Taormino giving a couple of tips on use, but you'll probably want to check out other resources if you aren't familiar with butt plugs already.

The Tristan 1.5 is one of my most used plugs, since it stays in well, is stimulating, and has a good size for either stand-alone or warm-up use. If you are interested in a vibrating plug you can also get the Tristan 1.5 in the vibrating model, which is exactly the same size but comes with a vibrator pocket and silver bullet vibrator.
