Tristan 1.5 - butt plug discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by LiftedUp

The folks over at Vixen Creations have done it again with their Tristan 1.5 plug. For those of you who have already experienced any of the other Tristan plugs in this line, you know exactly what I'm talking about; and for those who haven't, you really ought to! These plugs are perfectly designed for fun, comfortable, and pleasurable anal play, either alone or with a partner.

Being a Vixen Creations silicone plug, users can rest assured that this plug is created with high quality 100% silicone. The Tristan 1.5 is a perfectly smooth plug, without a single seam or blemish, and it's as smooth to the touch as it is to the eye. The surface of this plug has a slight tack to it (like most silicone toys do), and is decorated with a beautiful purple-and-black marbled pattern throughout the plug. Finally the Vixen Creations silicone used in this plug is firm, as you would expect in a 100% silicone toy, but surprisingly has a little bit of "give" to it, which I found quite nice. The best way I can describe it, is that it still has all the pleasing qualities of a firm silicone, but seems to be a bit more flexible and bendy, and has a bit of "squish" to it when you squeeze it. To me, this all adds up to a plug that is non-porous, easy to clean, is able to be sterilized, is comfortable when you wear it, is firm enough to stay put, and that little bit of "squish" lets it move slightly when you squeeze it inside you, to let you know it's there. Overall, a great choice of material for this plug.

The Tristan 1.5 was introduced to bridge the (somewhat sizable) gap in their namesake line, between the Tristan 1, and the Tristan 2... and Vixen Creations nailed it. I won't bore you to death talking about the sizes of the other plugs, and why they really needed this one in their line, but I will say that it fills that empty hole perfectly (pun intended).

The Tristan 1.5 measures 3 3/4" in height overall, with 3 1/4" of that being insertable (the remaining 1/2" being dedicated to the thickness of the base). At it's widest Tristan 1.5 measures 1 3/4" in diameter (or 5 1/2" in circumference). Tristan 1.5 is thinnest in the portion immediately following, measuring approximately 1 1/8" in diameter (or 3 5/8" in circumference). The thick region is located 1 3/4" from the tip of the toy, leaving an additional 1 1/2" of insertable length for the "stem" of the toy. Finally the base of the toy is 3 1/8" long by 1 1/2" wide (up to 2" wide where it flares out at the distal edges of the base).

Ok, so what does all of this mean?! First, it means that Tristan is a great sized plug. Beginners may initially find it a bit overwhelming though, and may or may not be able to take it without working up from a smaller plug first. Those with a bit more anal experience shouldn't have a problem taking Tristan 1.5, but may require some warm-up play first. Second, the ergonomics of this plug are great. The curvature from the tip to the wide point is just right so that you can actually warm up with the tip of the plug if you don't feel like getting another one out. Additionally, the steep slope immediately following the wide point just sucks this plug right into you, as soon as it crosses your sphincter. It's amazing really, as I don't think I've experienced another toy that just seemed to just pull itself in and settle to just the right spot with such fervor immediately upon insertion. It actually caught me off guard at first, but now I really look forward to it while working it in. The "stem" diameter is great because it's a big enough change from the wide point, that the plug is definitely not just going to "slip out," and it's narrow enough to remain comfortable for quite some time, but still wide enough that you don't forget it's there. As I said earlier, the slight "squishiness" of the plug is great here too, because I really enjoy flexing my sphincter against the plug, and feeling it squeeze, move, and push back a little bit. Finally, the base is very soft, thin, and flexible enough to find the right position, stay and place, and be extremely comfortable to sit on or walk with. Unfortunately, the only downside I've found with this toy, also lies within the base. Now to be fair, I do have a bit of a "bubble butt" (not fat, but muscular and round) but over extended periods of wear with the plug (usually starting around an hour), I begin to feel like the plug digs in to the inside of my "cheeks" a little bit. The rest of my ass loves the toy and wants to keep it in, but the inner contours of my cheeks start to become a little bit irritated, and I suspect it's from the widened portion of the base. For any sessions less than that though, I generally don't even notice and find this plug fantastic!

Being 100% silicone, care for the Tristan 1.5 is quick and easy. After use, just wash with soap (preferably an antibacterial toy soap) and water. Then put it away, outside the realm of direct sunlight, and out of direct contact with other silicone toys. Because pure silicone is completely non-porous, you can also sterilize this plug if desired, by boiling it for three minutes, or washing with a 10% bleach solution.

Finally, do be aware that many silicone toys are often incompatible with silicone lubes, and using these lubes may damage the toy. Please stick to water-based lubes with silicone toys, or apply a small test drop of your silicone lube to the bottom of the base of the toy to test it before use.

The Tristan 1.5 did come in a useful little package. The package is basically a 3 1/2" diameter wide, and 4 1/2" tall, clear, thin, plastic tube, with a red end-cap on each end. The case came adorned with a black label stuck on it, containing company information, and information on product cleaning and storage. It's certainly nothing fancy, but I find the container very useful for storing the toy upright, out of reach of other silicone toys, out of the way of lint, and still in a small and compact space.

So far we are loving this plug, and look forward to getting even more out of it. For the comfort of extended plugging sessions we still tend to go back to our njoy pure plugs, but for solo or couples play less than an hour or so, this toy makes for a great and fun alternative.
