How easy is it for you to find porn you like?

I've been thinking a lot lately about the porn industry and the different kinds of porn out there. I think it's a shame that we have to label porn "for" anyone (like porn for women or couples or whomever else) because even if a person fits under that label, it doesn't mean they will enjoy that type of porn. Furthermore, we all know that, while it is slowly changing, porn is and always has been a male dominated industry. Many women even agree that porn is made for men, even if they like it. That being said, how easy or hard is it to find what you like? Do you usually find it for free online or do you have to pay for it?

I ask because I have a very difficult time finding porn that I can fully enjoy. If I had to label my sexuality, I would call myself bi- or pansexual. I'm in a heterosexual relationship with a straight man. I'm a feminist and love queer theory. Maybe I'm just picky, but I don't want to see women with smeared make-up looking into the camera at me. I don't like the dirty talk I hear. I like bdsm, but the free stuff out there is questionable a lot of times, unfortunately. I like lesbian porn, but I always question how "real" the material is because we can probably all agree that lesbian porn is probably the most in demand, and the actresses who are in them aren't necessarily lesbians.

I can't watch porn without analyzing it and maybe that's my problem. But I do know, from the bit of feminist porn I've watched, I've felt extremely comfortable watching it. I don't question how into it the actors are or if they gave misinformed consent. This isn't to say that all non-feminist porn isn't like this, but feminist porn was created and labeled as such for a reason--to see different types of bodies, to see more women in control, and to provide a very safe environment for all types of people to perform in.

With all of that being said (and it was a bit of a ramble, so congrats if you made it this far), I'm just curious as to your thoughts on the matter. less

I get most of my porn from Kink.com. It's a pay service, but I like what I get from them so I'm happy to pay for it. I was paying for porn I didn't really like before anyhow.

It's probably also easier for me because I like makeup and dirty talk. I also don't get too much into questioning the real sexuality of the females involved in girl on girl porn. Even liking that stuff, lots of generic porn comes out that sucks. Generally I'll try to find an actress I like and search out her stuff. At least then I'll have someone pretty to look at if everything else in the porn blows. less

I'll put in another vote for Kink.com. In addition to doing good work, they're actively sex-positive and they treat their models well. The before- and after-scene interviews are also great for humanizing the models and making their personal interests, kinks, and boundaries explicit. Not everything they do is perfect, but they're about the best company I've found. less
