When I was in NYC, I was involved in the community there and loved it, but now I'm in the rural midwest, and there isn't much community to speak of. :/

I help run my local group. I love the educational aspect of it, both learning and teaching.
I also attend out-of-state demos, play parties, and events. I enjoy being exposed to new things and I love, love, love to learn anything I can... and then share it!

I've been involved in my local community for a couple years now and it's been great. I'm really fortunate to live in a major metropolitan area that has a large established community. I honestly can't imagine living somewhere that I wasn't able to share this part of myself with other likeminded people.

I want to be but I am seriously shy and lack a car. They tend to meet on days/times when I can't take the bus to get there. Being a serious newbie I would be very hesitant to ask anyone for something like a ride. But I really want to be, when I was in Chicago I had plans to go to a munch with a friend but I never had a chance to go.

Never felt the need. Found a lovely partner and we are fine by ourselves. I think local communities can be great, but are not a necessity for a BDSM relationship
