We've done some pretty rough play, and I've been tied up before, but we rarely buy stuff for the purpose. which set would be good for beginners, who aren't willing to fully invest in it all yet?

Before we really delved into bdsm/fetish we purchased one of those under the bed restraint systems and I ended up strapped down while he teased me. It was very hot but I wanted it to be more intense somehow, just didn't know what else to add to it until I found fetlife

We're still in the light bondage part just for fun in the bedroom and don't harm each other etc. Our first experience was with handcuffs, a blindfold, and paddle. The handcuffs had the release trigger so noone was "REALLY" restrained. It was just for fun. We didn't hit each other hard with the paddle, we just liked the idea of being under the other persons "control"

I always had a thing for handcuffs. So I told my boyfriend about it, and on one of his trips to my house, he stopped at a sex store and bought a pair of fuzzy handcuffs. It was pretty wonderful. There was no sex involved at that point, but I think the next time we used the handcuffs, there was.

Tough question, as I was introduced to BDSM some time before Juliann. Instead of going that far back, I will tell you about when I first introduced it to her. In the early years of our marriage, before kids, I always enjoyed playing the surprising romantic. So, for our first adventure in bondage, I planned things out. It started with my sending a single red rose in a box to Juliann at work. Inside the box was a note with a key card for a hotel room near by. The note read something to the effect of "Tonight will be a special adventure... go to ___ hotel, room ___ and you will find another note telling you what to do next."
When she arrived at the hotel and let herself into the room, she found a note on the bed telling her to disrobe and place her clothing into the top drawer of the dresser, where there was a box with another note and items to take a shower. After the shower, she was instructed by the note to another box that contained a cute patent leather corselette and yet another letter. This letter told her that she had a choice of how the evening would proceed. If she wanted to be in charge, she should open the letter/box marked A. If she wanted me to be in charge, she should open the letter/box marked B.
Well, when I arrived at the room, she had chosen B and had followed the directions in the letter perfectly! The box contained the Sportsheets set I had purchase locally, the Fantasy kit – bdsm kit. I can't really remember. Instead I will tell you about my first time with my partner. He made me sit naked on my knees on the bed and bound my hands to the top of the headboard. After that he flogged me severely, occasionally kissing or licking my stripes.

Goodness I can't remember, but I think it was him grapping my wrist with one hand hand holding my arms over my head while he....me. He told me not to move to just take whatever he gave me. Every time I said something or moved he flipped me and delivered a couple of hard smacks to my a#@. It has GREATLY evolved over the years.

Although I could get out if I leaned over and actually undid the velcro, I couldn't just pull my way out of the cuffs. At only $20, its a easy investment to start with, and they're comfy and functional, so unless you get into very heavy bondage there is no reason to quit using them!

I would go with the Lover's Prisoner Kit because it seems to come with everything you would need. The Bondage Kit is okay, but it doesn't come with anything to take the cuffs and link them together or tie them to a bed, so you'd have to get something for that. The rope kit is nice, also, but doesn't seem like it allows for as much tight binding as actual rope goes since it's slide in.
