It's weird. Just... weird. Yeah. I'm not really seeing any advantages to this shape. What am I missing? Talk me into it!

I can see potential for both broad (the top) and somewhat more concentrated (the rim) vibrations. In my experience, Fun Factory's toys are pretty strong, so the vibrations will hopefully travel nicely throughout the entire toy. Plus it's a pretty discreet shape - it barely looks like a sex toy, so you could claim it as a fun-shaped portable shoulder massager or something.
And, I admit, there's the novelty factor. Like I commented on the product page, I wouldn't mind being abducted by aliens if vibrators were involved.
I'm waiting to read a few reviews, though. It's pretty pricy, so I'd like more in-depth information before I try it myself.

Holy Cow is this thing worth it! It is great for clitoral or any other place you like vibrated (except inside the body). It's made of amazing materials, is powerful as all get out and soft enough to grind without being too squishy.
We also found that it works great as a massager for large muscle groups so it's versatile.
I like it as much as my Siri but this one is waterproof so it has a very slight lead....
...and yes it is WEIRD...weird enough to be totally unique and cute as a bugs ear!

Shape-wise I'd say it's as useful as any wand type massager with a ball type head; great for massage and for large area (rather than pinpoint) stimulation.
These are also great for folks who like to lay on or press against their toys, as it is not pointy or pokey. If you do want more pinpoint stim, you can use the rim/edges.
I like mine quite a bit!
