How do returns work when getting a gift card instead of a refund?

I returned an item and got an email that the return was in progress. I chose to get a gift card instead of a credit card refund. Will this gift card code be emailed to me, or will the points be added to my EF account?

I believe that customer service will send you a code for the amount, or if you had paid with a card they can usually give you the codes that you used on the order.

Hi, I recently did a return and requested for gift card refund instead of credit card refund (the purchase was made part point gift card, part video review gift card, and part credit card). After they received the defective product, it took them exact three business days to send me a gift card code in the e-mail of the amount I bought it for and 5 dollars extra.
