#ValentinesDay - Favorite Memories

Contributor: ImaGodiva ImaGodiva
Every one is my favorite. My husband always gives me a card with a page of flowery love letter written in it. I love his prose and it makes me feel special.

We always celebrate it but not usually on the exact day. We normally go away together for a night on a weekend sometime in Feb., or just for a date if we aren't able to find childcare for a whole weekend.

We try to do something special together every year. The last few years its been dinner out together at a nice steakhouse and exchanging whatever gift we got each other. My favorite? Our first, because I knew I had found true love and it would be the first of many to come.

Every year me and my boyfriend make a Valentine for eachother, wether it's a card or some other art project. We're really crafty like that and we both think it's more meaningful. We usually make eachother a card, a collage, ect. So right now I'm trying to think of what to make.

My favorite Valentine's day memory was one of our firsts. I made a whole bunch of chocolate cupcakes in red wrappers just for him. He got off work and came straight over to me and my mom's house (when we still lived together, such a long time ago!) and it was a nice surprise for him because he was tired and exhausted. We ate cupcakes and drank coffee and we were giggly and in a good mood. I just remember it so clearly because it was such a nice evening.

My boyfriend has yet to give me a V-day that REALLY stands out. Usually I try to talk to him on Skype and maybe I will this year but we are having some problems so it's not likely. I really want him to give me a promise ring but I doubt that'll happen.

So V-day's are a non-traditional event for me. Depends on if I have class or not.

It's my boyfriend and my second Valentine's Day together. Last year we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, because we both like sports and neither of us are particularly traditionally romantic people. All I know about this year's plans is one hint: "Wear a dress." So apparently this year will be a little different.

My bf gave me some lucky bamboo the first year we were together, he's not big on plants but knew I love them. The bamboo lived for a long time but recently died but I'm still with the guy and yes I have many more plants that he tolerates

My favorite Valentine's Day was last year. People close to me know I'm a major foodie and I love flowers. So, my significant other bought me a few dozen roses, giant balloons, candy, and took me to my now favorite (and VERY expensive) restaurant. It was simple but amazing spending the entire day together. I celebrate Valentine's Day every year

I tend not to celebrate - of course, winning an EF giveaway would cause a happy exception!

Last year was probably the best. We spent the night in and I made it super romantic with an awesome meal! I've always celebrated the holiday

Sadly my last valentine was when I was 13. He brought me one pink rose. He left it on my doorstep, rang the bell, and hid. I saw the rose, and he came out and kissed me. It was simple and sweet. I miss those days.

Mine was two years ago. I wasn't expecting nothing because I'm a little like my mother, V-day is just another day to me, but my husband came home with a coffee mug and a teddy stuffed in it. He got ot laughing when I just walked around holding that tiny teddy bear to me! He was like, "What about your mug!?" I was like, "WHO CARES ABOUT A MUG!? I LOVE MY TEDDY BEAR DAMN YOU!"
Yep. Typical us. XD.

My fiancé and I are a little different. Our first Valentine's Day together he got me a voodoo doll (most interesting gift ever). We hadn't decided what to do for it yet, until we were walking through the candy isle of the grocery store and he asked me if I wanted chocolates, or to go see a horror movie and f*ck.

Of course I wanted to go see a horror movie and f*ck. We saw the Wolfman (I love werewolves and the classic Wolfman is one of my favorites. Seeing the re-make was exciting. I don't care what others say.) He had actually known about the movie, but kept it a surprise for me.

Yeah, we have fun XD

My sweetheart came to visit me and we were talking while I stood there and blushed. When he stepped to leave he turned around and reminded me of the day and hugged me and asked me to be his Valentine! It was the first time anyone had ever asked me to be their Valentine at all I was so happy I started to tear up and he held me even closer <3 It was my favorite Valentine moment of all time.

Hmmmm....best V day was the first one I had with my BF. He wrote a funny letter and there were some bad drawings in there too but I loved it.

My first valentines day with my now husband was special! He made me breakfast in bed, cleaned the entire house, and gave me a bear with a braclet around its arm that held a rose for that morning. That evening we got dressed up (lacking energy) and went out to dinner. When we got home that night we had a nice bubble bath together with candles and rose petals it was so romantic and an all day gift!

Aw, well we'll just have to see what we can do to fix that.

Hahaha that's awesome. My husband gave me a set of those Hallmark kissing bears (the ones with magnets in their noses)...favorite Vday gift ever. When we went home for Christmas, one of the residents in the building decorated the hallway to his apartment and at the very end was one of the very same bears in my set. I was thrilled beyond belief. Sadly, he doesn't remember giving them to me.

Honestly my favorite was the first one that my partner and I had together. We'd only been dating for a month and I was still in that "I can't believe she likes me back and we're together" giddiness kind of stage, so I was really happy. We went out to dinner and then went back to my house and cuddled and watched movies. She said "I love you" to me for the first time. <3 And three years later, here we are.

I've never spent a Valentines day with a significant other. I'm hoping that changes this year.

When I was nine my mom had flowers delivered to me at school. They were red roses and said "from your secret admirer." I knew they were her, but all my friends were impressed ; )

I got a hotel room. I decorated the rooms with candles, rose petals, had lingere, soft music, toys and some chocolate covered strawberries. Sounds romantic, right? I got stood up and cried like a baby. The end.

We don't usually do anything for Valentine's Day. I just get a little box of chocolates for him and the kids. But for our first Valentine's Day together he gave me my wedding band. We were saving up to buy an engagement ring so he couldn't give it to me yet. I also got flowers that day but they were from an ex-boyfriend that was trying to hook back up. That would probably be my most memorable Valentine's Day.

The best Valentine's Day I had was 5 years ago when I met my boyfriend. He sent me roses and chocolate and gave me a very special card that I still have today. Yes, we are still together today!
