2 years ago my boyfriend came over to spend the evening with me. I had made him pink cupcakes with hearts on them, and he brought Moulin Rouge for us to watch. It was simple and romantic and very sweet.

aww, that's the hint I got when my guy took me out to a romantic little dinner. I won't forget it!

I got a hotel room. I decorated the rooms with candles, rose petals, had lingere, soft music, toys and some chocolate covered strawberries. Sounds romantic, right? I got stood up and cried like a baby. The end.
wtf? that would have been the best too. chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite! Some valentines days are just crappy.

My girlfriend (now wife) surprised me at my place with a homemade meal and... adult surprise after a long and frustrating day at work.

My best one would have to be a few years back when I sent a bouquet of roses anonymously to my childhood love. She was together with someone else then but she still figured it out that it was me who sent it.

Coming from a family who just did not care about a holiday--no religious reasons, just lazy and did not give a damn--I really cherished and went all out for the holidays. I did it for me and my daughter and just absolutely loved each one. Neither my ex or the husband were big on V-day but I honestly did not care--I had a blast planning out the events, surprises and making new traditions for my child to cherish.

I did receive a few token gifts, but the most memorable Valentine's Day is also the most bittersweet. 16 years ago on Valentine's Day, my ex and I took my daughter to see Rugrats: The Movie at the theater. Afterwards, we went out to dinner, hung out at the big mall and then had Baskin Robbins. My daughter had the best time of her life to that point and was on top of the world!! On the long drive home from the city, we made fun stops for her and got home just at bedtime. The next day, I moved out and started the divorce proceedings. Yes, my ex knew it was our last day together as a family--that is why we spent it on our child.

Like I said, bittersweet and pretty emotional. I have had nice ones but none that really stick out......

Last year, my now ex-boyfriend took me out for dinner and a movie. We never really celebrated holidays, so I just about fell over in shock.

hmm..best V-day was probably the 2nd V-day with my hubby, when we were 21. While he was at work I decorated with house with pink heart decals on the windows, more pretty decorations, pink and red table cloth, lit some candles and made us some sushi. We had the house to ourselves (last V-day we've ever had w/out a roomie) so we had a blast!

Can I just tell my favorite worst V day memory?

I was dating this guy in 9th grade who was really sweet until V day came along. I got on the school bus in the morning and gave him his little gift. He said he would give me mine after first period. Excited, I met him after my science class and that is when he broke up with me. I was so hurt and mopey during 2nd and 3rd periods. When lunch time hit, I met up with my friends instead. About half way through, my boy friend's friend found me and gave me a note. I was to meet him(my now ex) outside on the patio. So I did, lol. He apologized and said he wanted to get back together and finally gave me my gift. Well, it was a heart-shaped box of chocolates with a picture of a tuxedo on the front...okay, weird that it is a tuxedo. Then I opened it...it was a half eaten box of chocolates. Some were missing, some half bitten, and then the dark chocolates he didn't like. So I concluded that he broke up with me so he didn't have to get me a gift. His mom gave him the box of chocolates with the tuxedo on front, ate half, gave me the rest so he could keep me as a girl friend. WTF!
