In some ways, I feel the site could be better as far as communications between individuals. For example, if you ask a question on a review, the only ways to learn the answer are if you go back to the review to see if the author of the review responded, or if they write the answer on your profile wall, in which case you will get an email notification. The same goes for comments on a products page. There is not an "alert" to set for these things. For forum posts and replies, you can sign up for an alert to follow the entire post, but often times, that is more than you want, if you are just interested in replies to your own comment.

I am not sure how to improve these areas, but it does seem to me that improvements are needed. Thoughts?

That's what I always do. Actually, though I'm bad about getting back on my own reviews too often, I do periodically check each of them for questions and try to respond to them directly on the contributor's page so that they WILL see it.

There used to be an option to set an alert for replies on reviews, but I don't know what happened to it. That being said, if somebody asks a real question on a review of mine, I try to reply on their wall so that I know they'll see the answer at some point because I know I suck at checking back on reviews for answers to my questions. Because of that, if I have one I'll normally just send a message.
