If I am going for an orgasm by clitoral stimulation, I find that it is a lot quicker with a vibrator. BUT I still find that my orgasms that I achieve on my own are more powerful... probably because my whole body is there.

For me I tend to use vibrators to enhance the feelings but I nearly always need to rub my clit in little circles with my fingers to orgasm. It just doesn't work for me with a vibe because it feels wierd. More drag maybe? I don't know. But I have been using vibrators on occasion and never had a problem without one.

I have not noticed that it feels harder to orgasm without one.

Kayla has it just right here. It's very easy to train your body into getting off one particular way, and it can take a little while to accustom yourself to other kinds of stimulation. But it absolutely does not mean you can't orgasm in other ways! It just takes practice. So, hey, good news all around!

sex is great, but there are times when you just gotta rub one out or play with a vibrator.

I got pretty used to one kind of stimulation from the one vibrator I had for years. Now that it's broken, I've been trying a greater variety of types of stimulation, but I still don't use my fingers while masturbating, except for warm-up.

Interestingly, I have no trouble climaxing from a partner's fingers. So maybe it's all in my head.

I think a vibrator makes it easier with one, but don't think it makes it harder without one.

I believe that they temporarily decrease sensitivity, though lots of finger stimulation or water stimulation often decreases sensitivity to a much greater extent

I've hears arguments on both sides of the debate. I really think it depends on the individual; just as people's bodies react differently to changes in climate, medication, physical exertion, etc, I think the suceptibility of a woman to "get used to" a vibrator's intensity depends on each indiviaual.

ya it sometimes can be hard because it you get used to the vibrations

It's hard for me to orgasm via hands normally, so I prefer to use a vibrator for solo sessions.
Most of the time vibrators just get in the way during sex and are painful or don't have enough power to get me off in that situation, so I have to use my hands to help myself out. >_> This limits me to only two positions that I can get myself off in and still takes upwards of an hour to get there if I'm lucky.

I can't without one so clitoral vibes are wonderful for me.

I have heard that some women may become unable to experience a clitoral orgasm from too much vibrator use... But my own personal experience? I had my first clitoral orgasm WITHOUT a vibrator AFTER having used vibrators for years. If anything, it's made it easier because I've learned more about my body and sexual needs through vibrator use.

I don't use toys every day and I don't use a vibe EVERY time when I do. I haven't noticed anything changed during sex but I am a beginner so I don't have much time/experience.

Well, it's two different sensations, but I suppose that if you become used to a strong vibration, it will be harder to have it any other way, as touch might not be as stimulating. But I still feel both feelings as completely different and good in their own ways, and I've never had a problem getting off either way.

I use toys often and can still get off without them fine.

The very first way I figured out how to have an orgasm was basically humping/rubbing up against a pillow or stuffed animal. Very, VERY indirect clitoral stimulation was what got me off for years.
I never had an orgasm from direct, manual stimulation, but I did start using vibrators a few years ago. No problem having an orgasm with a vibrator (takes a while sometimes, but it's a guaranteed orgasm!)
I still am almost incapable of having manual orgasms, and it's definitely tough with partners. I've had an orgasm with a partner TWICE, when my ex was actively trying, during oral sex, to get me off for a long time. And it was a little orgasm.
Just not something that seems to happen for me...
But I don't think toys have had much of an effect on it.

Well, I've never been able to orgasm just from manual stimulation, but I actually feel like the opposite might be true. When I first started using toys, the Hitachi was pretty much the only thing that could get me off. I still like strong vibrations, but I can now orgasm from weaker ones (pocket rockets, bullets, etc). Personally, I think of it a bit like exercising - the more you do it, the easier it is.

I am a female and I do think that vibrators if used often enough make climaxing clitorally during sex a little harder

i think when used excessively it can affect you, but after laying off it for a little while you go back to normal. just from personal experience

I have heard of this but never experienced it myself or know of anyone else who does experience this. I use a vibrator all the time and I can cum over and over during sex without a vibrator.

I agree with the above posts. If I use a super strong vibrator, I'm just numb for a little bit, but not permanently. I love vibrators. The stronger the better for me
