Would you get chest surgery?

I wouldn't get implants or a reduction. I was the lucky one out of my family of very large breasted women and got nice C cups. My mother had a reduction and she loves it!

Yes, I can't wait for it, my breasts are a big source of dysphoria. Otherwise, as I hesitated between the FtM and genderfluid identities until some time (until I was 16), if I ever "fluctuate" again... I could totally be a woman without boobs. I just can't be a man with them. -- Marc

I'm getting it in the next two years, or whenever I can afford it. As soon as possible

I'd get top in a heartbeat if I didn't have to jump through so many hoops.

If not a full reconstruction, then at least a reduction so that I can bind more easily.

I can't look at myself in the mirror if I'm not wearing a binder. I definitely plan to get chest surgery.

I can't wait to get top surgery, even though I'm terrified of hospitals. It's worth it.

if i wore a bra, it'd be a 38DD. binding is hard. my chest makes me dysphoric and uncomfortable. even if i weren't an ftm, i would probably get a reduction. but yeah, in the next two years i want dr. garramone to do my top surgery.

I float back and forth as to whether I'd like to, but usually lean towards wanting it.

I have awesome nipple sensation after starting testosterone. It did make me think differently about surgery, but at this point I've been binding for 8 years and I am just very tired of wearing a sweaty tight constricting undershirt all the time. The second I get the cash it is done.

I have an acquaintance who just had top surgery with Dr. Garramone. He looks amazing! Good luck with your transition!

I've always been happy with what I've got, so I've never considered it.

Definitely! I cannot wait to be able just to wear a shirt without having to layer clothing over tight binders and being paranoid people can tell im biologically female.

.. i have to admit though, when i get top surgery? I'll be walking around topless everywhere, despite the weather!

My partner plans to have everything removed and I plan to have a reduction at some point in the future. For me, it's about comfort. I come from a long line of short, curvy women who had a lot of babies and I've had a DD chest and 49 inch hips since my sophomore year of high school. I know I can't change my hips, but a breast reduction will make it easier for me to find clothes (I can't wear button up shirts because they gap open if they fit the rest of me properly and ones that fit my chest are baggy and awkward looking on the rest of me) and I won't have to go to the chiropractor constantly for my neck and back.

Even before I knew that I was transmasculine (ftm) I wanted to get surgery. I won't be breastfeeding ever, so why do I need the extra pounds on my chest? Plus running around in just boxers is great.

Definitely considering getting the surgery but haven't read up enough on it yet.

Before T, I was absolutely sure I didn't want to. I still like my chest, maybe even more so, but the social pressure blows :/ I'm considering a breast reduction to reduce back pain and make social crap easier. I'm bitter though, I'd rather not have to bind all the time

Luckily there's insurance companies in my state that cover it so hopefully I can sneak my way into one of their coverage plans.

If I had a heart attack. sure.

But I think it is more worth while investing in liking me as I am than saving up to change it.

OMG I didn't even know what category it was in!! totally different context. My last post is totally innapropriate!! Sorry. it shows up as a general question when people have been commenting. I voted and posted and then read other comments about "why are you posting here if you aren't trans?"

I should have read more carefully and I'm sorry for my insensitive remark above.

All is well, no worries. At least you caught your mistake before it got out of hand.

As a genderqueer person, while being flat-chested sounds awesome, I feel like the financial and social costs would outweigh the potential benefits of comfort for me. SInce my dysphoria is relatively manageable, that seems like the most workable startegy for me to follow.

But if I woke up one morning and my chest was flat, that would rock. I really just wish I could shapeshift it back and forth...
