Typically on my birthday I don't see family or friends who I don't see on a daily basis, otherwise I would've picked that as well. But as it is, I love the food, and of course a gift or two is great. I also enjoy whatever surprises are in store for me!

I like being able to take the day for myself while my husband cares for the kids and cooks/cleans so I'm able to enjoy one day of relaxation out of the year. I'm a stay at home mom so I really look forward to it because it only happens on my birthday or mothers day.

I love knowing that my mom will make lasagna for me. It's the only time of the year she actually makes it anymore, and we end up with something like 25 pounds of it. I do love getting presents, but at this point in my life, I'm not terribly worried about it.

The food. I get to pick whatever I want and eat as much of it as I want. The company always makes it a really nice day, too. Presents, I don't really care about. But, I do relish the chance to be completely selfish for the entire day because for the rest of the year I'm extremely conscientious about what other people want/need.

i love getting to hang w/ my friends & have it be all about me. sometimes i get presents, sometimes i don't (all of us being poor college students & all). i dress up for my b-day every yr, & wear a tiara & a sash that says b-day princess, which i may have to replace soon since it's fraying.

I love going out with my friends. I don't get to see a lot of them on a daily or even weekly basis so it is nice to get together and have some fun.

I live with the family I share my birthday day with so I went with the food.
None of us celebrate our birthdays and because they are all within a month, we just go out the once for dinner for the three of us.

I'd be more than thrilled to give up my birthday dinners if I never had to age again!

Definitely being with my fam and loved ones! Plus, my partner makes my B-days so special. He always makes everything about me and that's something that even 5 years of being together, still feels so new to me! It's very special though, to have someone go to such great lengths for you. He gets so excited about doing things for my B-day. It's really a very special time for me.

Damn! I forgot to mark food as well. I love all of it! I made it a tradition for each of us to have a birthday weekend. That way we get the family together a bit at a time, our favorite meal, and what we want to do for a day. Pretty fun stuff!

When the day is over, all the friends/family are gone and the kids are in bed. The lingerie gets put on and the presents are given by the wife.

I love my family and friends and even if I had the ability to see them all the time I would pick them 100% of the time. Not saying food and presents are not wonderful I still like them as well but nothing beats a family day. Also my family is crazy so you will always have a good time while we are around ROFL. Last time we had an epic marshmallow fight.
