gingerbread is more holiday-ish. gingerbread is not near as common as sugar cookies are throughout the whole year. and, it does appear much more frequently during the Holidays.

I am not a gingerbread fan personally, but do love making gingerbread houses A local botanical garden does decorating contests and I love going to see them. I personally make desserts around Christmas - chocolates, brownies, and of course sugar cookies!!
