I hear they're making a Dark Tower movie. Ron Howard's directing. And if they screw it up, I will go on a freaking rampage. I love my Dark Tower.

Oh god, I hope they don't mess it up. I can't see it, lol

I personally love his writing style. His quirkiness always makes me laugh.
I have been reading his stuff since I was about 8 years old. I admit I am more into his older stuff like Christine, The Shining, Pet Semetary and IT and I also really love ... more
I used to like Stephen King, and then I read the Library Police. Scarred me for life. No SK since.

Don't worry, you're not alone. The first real book I read all the way through was The Eyes Of The Dragon, by Stephen King, and I was about 8 or so, lol.

I love the books, and I love seeing most of them turn into movies. Kingdom ... more
That was my all time favorite by him.

Most of the King movie adaptations are awful. They had better not fuck up Dark Tower.

I just loved it. I thought it was done really well.

Riding the Bullet is another huge favorite of mine, and I was really excited to hear that From A Buick 8 is going to become a movie at some point soon too.

I read my first Stephen King book when I was 12 years old.
I have all of his books.
The Dark Tower Series would be my all time favorite.
Duma Key runs a close second. So far...
Well, then there's The Stand too, and It - that was good and creepy as well.
(His short story about the cat is pretty darn good too!)

I heard that too. The guys from Lost the tv show bought the rights to make it into a movie but one dropped out. I am not sure of the status now as I have not looked into it lately though. I agree, they better not mess it up! I am dying to watch it.

I think the first one I read was "It" and I've collected all the books since - most that I have are hardbacks. They take up a lot of room on the shelves. My favorite is probably "The Stand".

i heard it was going to either be a movie or a mini series.. most mini series you don't know the ending lol and are usually like "ooo i wonder what will happen next?!" in this case, as long as you've read the books you'd know

I like some of his books and short stories. I'm reading IT now, but seems a bit boring

Back in the 80s i read most of what was out at that time.

Got back into his work with the Dark Tower Series, Buick 8 & Duma Key.

I love all the books he wrote before his accident. The ones after just seems to be kind of different from his old writing style - that's my opinion of course.

I like Stephen King books too. My favorite is still Night Shift. I do love The Eyes of the Dragon, Rose Madder, The girl who loved Tom Gordon, The Stand just to name a few.

He is my very favorite author! I have EVERY book he's ever written. I only have a few of his audio books. He's coming out with a new book this fall called 11/22/63. Can't wait! Dark Tower Series, Insomnia, The Stand are on my best of list.

Nice collection!

I Love, Love, Love Stephen King. I'll have to list all mine soon.

Haha! I read IT in grade 6 as well. I took it to school for "independent reading hour", and the school told me not to bring the book back to school and even called home!

Is that a short story?

I posted on the other King thread. I have all his books and most of them in first edition hard backs. They aren't worth that much (most of them, I don't have, say Carrie, which first came out in paper back not hard back) but I do buy them as soon as they come out.

Steven King has had me sat in the dark, biting my nails many a times when I was younger...OMG I LOVED his work! Although not as keen on his more recent works. The Dome was good, but it wasn't fantastic, if you know what I mean.
The Stand is fricken awesome, and The Shinning.

I waited on him in the Colonial Williamsburg bakery. My poor coworkers had to deal with me fangirling in the back afterward. Too bad I couldn't keep the credit slip he signed...

I've been a rabid King fan since I was 13 or so. I do find, though, that his older books are my favourites (The Shining, Gerald's Game, The Tommyknockers, The Stand, etc.) But I am loving the Dark Tower series...I'm currently on book 5 and don't want the series to end!
