My absolute fav author is Mary Higgins Clark. I cannot get enough of her books! They always leave me with such emotion! It's amazing. I think I love her books so much because of the feeling I get after the last page is the feeling I strive to give my readers in my stories. Even if I've predicted the ending with her books, I always have a tiny gasp (or sometimes an OMG!) and a smile. I've even gotten excited enough by her endings that I've let out a little squeak. Lol. I read a variety though, but I keep her books on hand and when I run out, it's back to our book store! My partner and I made a deal with our bookstore owner. I bring him all the big sellers in exchange for any Mary Clarks! I also LOVED a few of another author that I always forget her name. Let's see... it starts with a J... it'll come to me. Lol. I read one by Kay Hooper, Touching Evil and I've wanted to read more from her ever since! My fav types are thriller/suspense, but not blood and gore so not much horror. I like stories that make my heart beat fast and keep you completely unsure of what might happen.
I'm not much into erotica, but I've been reading a book by Anne Stuart and should finish it in a day or 2. Anyways, I was just telling my partner earlier how she done a stunning job of sneaking some seriously hot scenes without going overboard. It was unexpected. At the beginning and middle you would never expect her to go into details like that and then BAM! It's had me a little on edge it's so good. I'd probably like some light erotica, nothing hardcore and it would absolutely have to have a good plot, setting, characters and be more than a romantic F session. Lol. I just have no idea where I would start with those types yet.
As for romance, it ain't my cup of tea unless it involves a strong, powerful woman and a setting that doesn't revolve around the lovey dovey, love making thing. If there's a good suspense story in it I might just like it though.
