I'm really curious. I notice that the Porn Club is always more active than the Naked Reader club meetings, so now I'm curious. How many of you are members of each? Is there a reason you chose one club but not the other? Is it because reading is going out of style or because porn movies are easier to review, etc.?

So which clubs are you a part of? (You can check both if you're in both. )

So far I'm only part of the Porn Club, not because it's easier to review, but it is something we can watch as a couple. Finding quiet time to read is almost impossible for me.

It is not for either reason you listed.

I actually could not figure out how to join the reader club when it was created. I sent two messages to two people whom I thought were in charge and they never got back to me. I just let it go.

I don't think reading is going "out of style" seeing that things like the Kindle are making a ton of money right now, but watching a film is quicker and more easily sensual for both.

Reading to each other is something we prefer to do in short story form and not very often. It would be very hard to review entire books on a time schedule.

I am part of the Porn Club only. I think it is awesome that we are given the oppertunity ro be in such cool clubs. The Nake Reader Club seems cool also!

I'm only in the Porn Club. The main reason is, I'm not a huge reader so it takes me too long to get through a book. I read at my own pace.
Besides, I'm more into technique books rather than erotic.

I am currently not a member of either. Life is still too much in an upheaval right now and I don't want to sign up for something that I may not be able to follow through on.

I voted no since I'm still very new to EF and figuring out what everything is. There is a ton of material on this site! I would be interested in joining the reading club but I feel like I need to learn my way around here a little better first.

Ack. Kindle. I do wonder how long it's going to be until EF starts offering erotic e-books for sale. That'd be a neat way to increase profit and whatnot since e-books are on the rise. (And I'd probably buy some for my Sony E-Reader.)

I am newly a part of the Porn club, but I did attend the last Naked Reader Discussion and will continue to attend the meetings as frequently as is possible for me. I think I actually prefer the Naked Reader but only time will tell.

Porn club only. Mainly because I stumbled across Gary's invitation for all to join. I do not find the DVD reviews to be any easier than toy reviews though. Hopefully, they will get easier as I do more. With that said, I have enjoyed the porn club. The discussions are fast paced. Plus, I've gotten to see movies that I normally would not have chosen for myself.

As far as the Naked Reader Club, are they looking for more members? I bet my wife would love to join. She spends a lot of time soaking in the bath reading erotica.

I wanted to be in Porn Club because I didn't have much exposure to mainstream porn, and what I'd seen so far hadn't been great. I wanted to explore other mainstream genres and see what was out there. I don't think DVD reviews are any easier than other product reviews.

I love reading, and I love erotica, but I do not like feeling rushed to read something. A movie has a set length and I know as long as I rope off a batch of time, I can watch it. A book is not so straightforward, and I really can't enjoy a book if I feel pressured to read it. I'd rather review books as I get around to them. ^_^

Anybody interested in the Naked Reader Book Club is welcome to join us... the details on how to participate are found in this thread, posted several months ago.

The book lists are announced on the forum ahead of time so you can order books before the meetings or just show up to a meeting to find out more about a book before you decide to buy it.

I'm in neither yet as I am fairly (very) new here. Have looked into both and will consider both in the future. Just got a mentor, so I am going to see how much extra time I have on my hands working with her before I commit to either club.

I saw Gary's post on the forum about signing up for the Porn Club and couldn't resist because watching porn was something I could do with my husband. I love reading, but my husband wouldn't be interested in participating in reading erotica with me. Plus, I think you have to buy the books yourself for the Naked Reader -- and I have been flat broke for the past few months. Even with earning EdenPoints, I do not place orders every month because I don't have enough points racked up. I am also too cheap to pay shipping on an inexpensive item (since the cost of shipping is about half the cost of the book, LOL!). But I do think it would be fun to be in the Naked Reader club. Maybe one day . . .

You have to write a review on your own and send it to Laurel to apply to be in the Naked Reader in an official capacity. If she likes your review and they are accepting members I think you are in. That is what I got from the thread about it when I read it. .... that was a while ago though. Check out Laurels link!

I was a member of the Porn Club, but dropped out because I wasn't going to have any internet for awhile and had some things going on. It was fun.

I go to the Naked Reader Meetings and as soon as I get some income I'm gonna try to purchase the book in advance and participate.

You could choose a book to do as your normal review for the month, or grab one with points and add it to your normal review order. Either way free book in advance!

I LOVE Caught Looking. I am just finishing it. Dirty Girls is a good one too. My husband loves to read. He reads everything that comes into this house, including Erotica. He reads much faster than I. He tells me when he finds a hot story and he'll either read it to me in the tub or tell me I should read it.

I am in Porn Club, but I read so slowly and rarely that it would be difficult for me to do each month. We watch porn regularly anyway, so it makes it a lot easier for me to do a review on it.

I'm only a member of the reader club because I prefer erotica to porn. I do enjoy watching porn, but not enough to feel as though I could give a good review on it because I just can't make myself sit there, and watch porn, for 2 whole hours. Once I'm done I like to just turn it off and move on and it would take me forever to get through a whole movie, lol

Haha. I have a full pile of books too. A bookshelf of sex books I need to read for reviews - just by themselves. I have another pile of work-appropriate books too. I know how that feels.

Neither. I have a hard time watching and reading things and reviewing them? But I love reading. I have lots of rather non-sexy books to read, and have years worth of manga.

Porn films and I don't go well together. But I have three decades of anime to watch!
