There are pros and cons to every operating system, and I recently had a falling out with windows vista. I couldn't justify buying windows 7 for my 4 year old laptop and an update crippled my computer, so I downloaded linux and so far its great. Which do you prefer?

I have 7 starter on my netbook. It's better than Vista, but the starter limitations are annoying and I'm too poor for an upgrade.
I've used my partner's Mac and I like how it looks and how it works.
If I could have exactly what I wanted regardless of cost, I'd have double systems. I dont know what it's really called, but several of my friends have both Windows and Mac on their computers, which is what I'd like.

I like windows.. I am used to it but for my design class I use a mac and its great. For me I like to stick to what I like and know.

I have a mac, but I regularly use PCs at school. I like macs better and would prefer to own a mac over a pc, but I really don't mind either way in terms of general use

I prefer Linux, but have to use Windows in my major (office administration). Every class has me bitching in the back "Your Windows 7 sucks - get Linux so we can do the work instead of waiting for the booting up and scanning for viruses all the time." The kids in my classes have no clue what Linux is - they think a Blackberry/iPhone is all that exists. *eyeroll*

Windows all the way. I feel lost and confused when a Mac is put in front of me. Once, when trying to install a new browser on an iMac with the help of an engineer, we became so frustrated we just wanted to hurl it out a window.

I've only used windows and have no interest in using a Mac. The closet I've gotten is a was for a while considering an ipad and researching that alone has put me off from apple and there general philosophy. See the oatmeal for an example: link

I love my Mac. When I switched over from a windows dell computer, I was awed by how quickly it ran and how it almost never froze up. My ol' macbook is now, er, 5 years old and it's seen better days and totally broken- the battery is dead, so it always has to be plugged in, and because the battery died and swelled up a bit, my mouse clicker is kinda permanently stuck... I'm too poor to replace the battery, which I was told I had to pay for since my computer is so old it can't possibly be warrantied...
I'd like to replace the laptop entirely, but I hate getting new computers/laptops when all my old stuff is on THIS... and the macbook is just so damned expensive.
I might get Windows, since its fraction of the price, and my dad is in computer software and has all the programs for windows computers already.. free...

I use windows 7 right now, some day I'd like to get a mac just because. I have an Asus right now that i use for gaming so i get a lot more for my money, I'd have to spend more than i already did for a mac with less in it than my asus. but it'd be fun to own a mac for fun sometime just to have one.
Also really the only reason to switch from windows 7 to windows 8 would be if you have a touch screen laptop or tablet.
