Do you use FABRIC SOFTENER on your towels?

we have hard water, so we use softeners in the wash all the time. I did not notice a difference in how well the towels dried though.

Growing up, we always used actual liquid softner and it was fine. Now that I am on my own, I use the dryer sheets and they seem to make towels the perfect combination of softness and absorbancy!

I'm a white vinegar user too. I also use dryer sheets if I don't have the option to put it vinegar in the wash.

As long as you don't use massive amounts of fabric softener it doesn't create that much of a problem with how much water will be absorbed, and there are actually softeners out there that are specifically designed to NOT create this problem. It won't leave the film on the towels (or clothing) and leaves everything feeling nice and soft and fluffy

I personally add fabric softener in and don't care if the towels are less absorbent as I never notice an issue arise because of it in my home, but if you have this as a concern, looking for the alternative (It may be the new one by Downy?) could work for you
