Actually this is a good idea, but not just for the tote, but the carry on bags are on the list, they are available for free assignment, you just need a mentor who gives out assignments like that. Not all of the do, if I was available I would offer to help.

if i don't have a purse, then I'll just grab the bare essentials, such as my wallet and use it as a clutch. I feel like I need to carry my life with me at all given times so a purse is a necessity for me.

What I would do is save up a few dollars and buy one at Wal- Mart or the mall. I've found bags at Wally world for at least 5$.Since X- mas is coming up, there's going to be all sorts of deals everywhere. Or, if you don't like that idea, you could use Beck's idea and then paint the outside a new color so people don't know you got it from a sex store.

just some ideas

ahh then I'd have to buy the paint and if I paint it can it get thrown in the washer? I have had wal mart bags fall apart on me but a really cheap bag for a month or so would be ok....I just need to see december's schedule which won't be out until probly thursday next week. I need to make sure I still have a job and my hours arent down to nothing like this week. oops I mean friday this week. Yes having no vehicle I need the purse I carry a meal to work ipod touch and I also need entertainment on my break it can get pretty crappy there so nintendo ds book or other things are helpful to get through the rest of work.

This. I've used it to carry stuff in general but purse things tend to be small..

I agree about using a reusable shopping bag! They sell them at Smiths/Albertsons/Whol e Foods for $.99 where I live and they're super sturdy! I have one I got a few years ago from Target (Also $.99) that I use for picnics!

Use points for the divine carry on. Or get a mentor and have this as an assignment, it would be nice to have a review on other ways to use this product.

Like an actual plastic bag? (grocery store, sandwich, etc?). If so, NO. If you mean a recyclable bag that is fashionable but cheap - YES. I used them all the time during high school.

Reusable bags are a great idea...other "recycled" ideas (assuming you are remotely crafty or have access to a sewing machine, or needle and thread)would include:

1) cutting an old pillow case down to more "purse-sized", hemming it and sewing some 1-1/2 to 2 inch ribbon on for straps

2) make "plarn" by cutting 1/2 inch strips out of plastic grocery bags and crochet a bag out of it (if you can get several of the colored bags, you can even add a decorative row or three...search on the web for plarn...lots of tutorials out there!

3) A t-shirt (used, stained, holes, whatever...or even a freebie from here with your next review item!) could be cut down and re-sewn into a cut bag too.

Can you tell it's "craft season" in my house? Lol!

I have too many purses! I usually just use a wristlet though. It's easier.

Hell no! I'm very choosey when I buy my purses and handbags (leather) so there's no way in hell I'd carry about a plastic bag with my stuff in it!

I know they sell purses dirt cheap (like $5) over here and even cheap handbags ($15 or $10 for something smallish) so there's no real reason not to have one here.
US is cheaper than AU!

No, but I've been accused of using a paper bank envelope as a wallet.

I love this idea!! I don't carry a purse, but I use a stuff sack from a jacket that I bought a few years ago. I put all my cash/cards/etc in my pocket, but haul all my other junk around in my stuff sack. I love the t-shirt idea though and will definitely have to try that!

These are such awesome ideas!

I have a few different purses that I've collected over the years. If I don't feel like carrying a purse, I stick things in my wallet.

IF i used anything besides a purse, it would be a tote bag (EF, probably) but no, I've always used a purse or just carried stuff in my pockets.

Never used a plastic bag as one, I just go to some local thrift shop or goodwill and get a cheap (hopefully black) purse for a buck or two.

As a way to carry stuff I'm going to use later? Yes. As a half assed overnight bag? Yes. As a purse for any length of time? No.

I think I have a few times, I usually use a reusable shopping bag though. I seem to have plenty of those laying around.

Do you know how to sew? There are some good ideas above, but you can also make a purse or large bag out of a pair of old jeans.

Maybe you could also try looking around at a few blogs and entering giveaways for items you could use. There is of course no guarantee you would win, but I just did a quick Google search and found a few for purses and bags. Some companies also give out free promo bags if you are lucky enough to find one.

Can you sew? Order an Eden Tee instead in the largest size available, and sew yourself a bag from the portions without writing. Free fabric.

Edit: I was slow on the draw with this, but I second that advice in this case.
