WOW - you have 4hr cycles over there????
I have once or twice forgotten to put the damn powder in and had to redo it. That's most annoying!

I let my dog outside to go to the bathroom and didn't think much of it. She usually goes and then comes right back so I was just waiting inside reading a book until she came back to the door. After 15 minutes or so I thought it was strange that she hadn't come to the door so I went outside to look for her. Sure enough she had gone walking on the frozen pond. So I call for her to come back and I guess the running was too much pressure for the ice and she fell in. So then I had to get in the water and save my dog and we were both frozen and wet.

We're both fine now but still - FML

So after my recent break-up, my life has majorly sucked and I've been very isolated. I've never been more depressed than I am now, actually, and that's just been rather dangerous. But tomorrow I was going to go meet a penpal I made a few weeks ago for the first time and I was actually pretty excited about it.

So, not to change the subject, but did you know that in the northern U.S. (where they actually experience sub-freezing winters), the houses are actually built differently to handle the weather? The roofs can hold the weight of snow and ice, the power lines are further supported, and the pipes carrying water are insulated to prevent freezing. Yeah, in the south where I am, the houses aren't built with this in mind. So half my city is now without water and some even without power. Many don't own a safe vehicle to drive on ice with to get out of the area as well.

Right now, my house is without water and they estimate we'll not get it back for the next 48 hours. So tomorrow if I got meet my penpal I'll be doing it without a shower... after working all day today, playing with my dogs, and working out.

FML.

(And I really hope people stop laughing at the south for "flipping out" over "silly snow" because it's not to us! We love having a real winter and all but my city owns only a handful of small plows, no salt trucks, and people here generally don't own supplies to make their own house safer like snow shovels, bags of salt, or even ice scrapers for cars let alone winter tires or well insulated water heaters. Yeah, thanks for laughing at us while we have no power, water, or safe way to travel to the grocery store.)

My 2 1/2 year old has slept 12 hours straight every night since she was born. Last night she woke up 6 times...and there was nothing wrong with her. Working until 1 am tonight. FML.

Resurrection

A week ago, C and I had to separate because he needs time to think about the Child Issue and our relationship (in short: he wants kids and I don't), so I'm fully expecting a complete break up at some point. Hell, it took this to finally admit out loud that we love each other.

It's Saturday, and it's bloody weird to not be with him, as I've spent the weekends with him for months now - so my body is being confused that it's not fucking my soul mate at this time of night. I miss everything about him and I can't have him anymore!

FML TO THE NTH DEGREE!!!

I was so productive today that I was thinking of celebrating by getting up earlier than usual in the morning to take my dog on a longer than usual morning walk. Then I remembered I'm doing overtime this week and have to be at the office two hours earlier and just NOW reset my alarms. No extra walk for dog and two hours less sleep for me. FML.
