Why make up a story about going to the moon? If we're fabricating stories - why not say we're going to Mars next week?
Good point. What would have been the point to "pretend" we went to the moon, if we hadn't gone?
The only person I knew who really thought we didn't go to the moon was my 90 something year old great grandmother. She was born in a tiny village in Italy with no electricity, no running water, no cars etc. She said that they fake it "anna dey go outa the back a da spaceship, den, ita go up, and itsa fake." She also never went to school and was illiterate. She didn't believe we went to the moon.
She was a kind woman, but not the sharpest tool in the shed.
