How do you make friends?

Since moving 6 months ago for the first time, I've found it to be realllllly hard to make friends. Ive only made two; one at work and one at the gym and I don't particularly like either too much. Most of the people I volunteer with are 3 times older than me so there's not much in common there to be more than acquaintances.

Start up conversations with people who are doing things I am interested in.

Join a club or volunteer. Visit expositions and talk with some people after.
If you go to school or work, you might start talking tothe people there.
Say: "Hi, I'm whoever, I don't know many people/anybody here..."
Well, I've only a few friends that I met through the Internet, though.
One is a guy that bother me but is still my friend and we meet sometimes IRL. The other is a girl and I can share a lot of things with her, we lived very similar things, and I've never seen her in real life though we talked over the phone. Then I've some other friends, I guess.
Read blogs and comment, that's how I made another online friend. Join a penpal program if it's your thing.

I have no idea. Just talk to people?

i really have no friend but online i meet people but dont keep in touch then lose them as friends. i really a homebody and rather be home then out. if i could find me a girl that liked to stay home and read books and watch a movie at home on a friday night i would marry her!
