Medical Marijuana

I picked the first one, but I sometimes smoke to help me sleep too.

I live in Ohio, there is no Medical Marijuana here. I smoke it though, usually to help me sleep or to clam me down. I have to smoke it period time, only thing that clams my moodiness enough. It is so decriminalized here that it is only a ticket. I know someone who had over 60lbs and was growing it, who only did probation. So it is no big deal, but wish I could have a card.

I don't live in CA. I smoke rarely...but mostly for fun or a stress reliever. I think it should be legalized but I'm not holding my breath.

The Obama Justice Dept just told all the Medical MJ distributors in San Diego to close shop or their assets would be seized. Can imagine the outrage if Bush tried to do this - but what's a liberal to do, when it's one of your own?

Wish there would have been the option to choose multiple answers...I smoke recreationally as well as to help my anxiety and depression.

-- Caregivers in Arizona say a state-legal marijuana cultivation center, the nation's first, will allow them to grow their own pot for medicinal use.

Compassion First Caregivers Circle Inc. set up the growing center in Phoenix, equipped with sodium lights, duct systems and other features necessary to cultivate the only medicine some patients say works for chronic pain associated with arthritis, cancer and other maladies, The Arizona Republic reported Friday.

The Phoenix grow center will provide a 5,000 square-foot centralized location where about 45 people registered with the Arizona Department of Health Services can grow marijuana and distribute it to patients holding ID cards they've obtained from the state.

About 1,065 caregivers and 18,000 patients are registered with the state, the newspaper said.

Lynette Shockley, 64, is a registered caregiver who said she has tried everything for her debilitating arthritis pain.

"Nothing has touched the pain except for marijuana," Shockley said. "Now, I can finally help myself legally, and help other patients who need it."

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said people in law enforcement are warning growers and customers to follow the medical-marijuana law closely.

"This is a new kind of program, a new kind of business, and so we're just telling folks to read the law and follow the law," Martos said.

Marijuana has ZERO negative side effects, and is much safer to use than many of the drugs prescribed for a huge variety of ailments.

I use it for anxiety and insomnia, sometimes for headaches, and sometimes just for fun. I don't have a card, since I've never been to a Doctor about my anxiety but have had people tell me I should. I have heard it's difficult to get without unsuccessfully trying several other drugs which makes no sense to me since most of them are either addictive or have a list of negative effects as long as my arm.

I'm for it for other people, but have no interest in using it myself. It helps my sister with her anxiety and rage issues, which is good. I was around her smoking once and went into a huge spiral of migraines - and since my migraines cause muscle spasms and paralysis instead of just pain, that's a big problem.

I've seen it legitimately help some, but I do kind of roll my eyes when I hear marijuana prescribed as a panacea. It is possible to be allergic to it, unaffected by it, or just plain hate it.

I smoke occasionally, sometimes for fun, sometimes to help with anxiety or insomnia. I really do think it should be legalized. I know so many marijuana users, and all of them are high-functioning individuals. It's not a big deal.

When my spouse was enduring the progression of cancer, I offered to obtain marijuana for her, she declined. She was originally from a South American country that is the origin of some illegal drugs and was strongly against using. I would have happily endured criminal prosecution if I could have helped to alleviate her suffering, damn even writing this has brought me to tears.

actually, because weed is legal in CA, the black (illegal) market from mexico has almost ceased to exist.

in fact, i would go as far as to say that one of the reasons for all the trouble is because everybody is having to shift gears into the harder more harmful drugs because those pinche guero californians are growing their own.

Medical Marijuana was introduced with a INTENTIONALLY vague bill.

watch "the union" for more details

it was a way for weed to become legal, not a new medicine for sick people. medicine is simply a nice side effect

No, I don't smoke it medicinally though there have been a few times when I thought I did. I was a pretty committed pot head for a bunch of years. I'm glad that time's over, to be honest. It wasn't a medicine at the levels I was using it. Though I do respect that it helps a lot of people.

Drug war in Mexico. What.

Buy locally. All the weed I have ever purchased was homegrown in the USA and in my state. It's like how shopping at the farmer's market is different than shopping at Walmart. Lmao.

Not even getting into the "everyone has a headache" as the comment is 3 years old. I just wanted to say WTF about the Mexican drug cartel.

I may apply for my medical card soon. I have chronic migraines and anxiety.

I don't smoke, and I don't have any interest in starting. I know people who do for medical reasons and I fully support the legalization of it.

I don't smoke. Regardless of people saying it's harmless, I've watched a lot of people throw their lives away sitting in their momma's basement smoking.

Migraines. Great for when you have them. It's one of the BEST pain killers out there and it even beats chocolate.
