Simple question. I will let you define the meaning of high or low crime. Do you feel you live in a high crime or low crime area?

Or do you think it is neither...just what is "normal"?

The area surrounding where I am at is horrible. I can't stand it at all. Actually this whole place has gone straight to hell. I am so ready to move out of here. I know there is crime every where but I came from a quiet area back home in Massachusetts where nothing really happened to a area where there is always some kind of crime.

The area I live in is low crime in my opinion but the area around me varies a lot. Drive 5-10 minutes one way and it's the ghetto, but then if you drive 5-10 minutes in another direction it's relatively nice and safe. Any crime that happens in my area is usually theft or drugs, not violent crime.

Very low crime. There have been 3 murders in the last 6 years, 10 armed robberies in the last 8 years and the crime is primarily misdemeanor. A lot of petty theft is common, but mostly in the little town of about 10,000 people. Pretty safe area--but the rate of drug use is rising to almost meet the drinking and DUI rates.

LA County...well, it depends. I would say it's "normal" for the amount of people in the areas.

Not much happens in the city I stay in currently...

low crime. We just have drug problems out her in the country. Nothing else. Everyone out here has guns in their houses, and/or persons. So nothing really bad happens. I love living in the country.

Low crime. When something more interesting than a drunk and disorderly call comes in to the police, it's big news.

Pretty low where I live. But in the city crime is on the rise.

Very low crime. The people we bought the house from a few years back couldn't even find the front door key. They never locked anything and never had any problems in 30 years. So far so good for us, too. [knocks on wood]

Low crime. We get a lot of MIPs and DUIs, being that it's a college town. There haven't been any murders since I've lived here and only a few high profile crimes like robbery or identity theft.

My area is in the middle. We have mostly burglaries, but the area is one people consider "ghetto." So, it looks bad. Lots of homeless people and druggies.
