My husband was for 3 years. The log home industry folded, he is a contractor. But he is back to work part time now!! It is looking up!

Forbes magazine declared my county to be the worst in the nation for finding a job. Ain't that cheery?

Currently employed, but when I got out of college a few years back I spent a number of months unemployed/underemploy ed, and then after my last job disappeared it took about 6 months to find my current one.

I don't envy anyone in the position of having to look for work, it's not fun at all. My income dropped by about 1/5th when I took the job I currently have (compared to my last job) but at least I've got work that I won't have to worry about disappearing.

I'm not technically employed, haven't been for over 8 years. I'm a stay at home mom and that's what we agreed upon when we were thinking of having a child.

I'm out of work by choice. I chose to be a stay-at-home mom until my youngest starts preschool in 2013. I'll be on the lookout for a job then. If I can't find any work I'll either go back to school and get my MBA or take a few classes and get my CPA license.

I think "unemployed" indicates a desire to be employed, so stay at home moms/housewives are, really, not unemployed. Just my two cents.

That said, I'm unemployed and have been for two years now. My dad's unemployed and has been for almost six months. Money's running out, and my dad's virtually refusing to try to look for a job. This is causing me a lot of anxiety.

I've been unemployed for the better part of 4 years. I was a telemarketer (yes, horrible person, I know) and couldn't handle being yelled at after my brother died at 20, so I quit. Then I never really got myself back together (I swear the universe has it out for my family) and would get a job here and there, but haven't really found anything permanent.
I'm looking for something now, but I'm still a loose canon so I'm looking for something with looooowww stress. The boyfriend makes enough for us to live comfortably, but I REALLY want to get back to work.

last job i had was in 09.i have been on disability ever since. I also make some money on the side selling my crafts online and to people. i make bracelets and other jewelery and other things. also find things that i dont need or going to throw away and sell on ebay.
