using an iPad over a laptop/computer?

My answer is a stick in the mud: I hate Apple products---loathe them, in fact. Lenovo is the only way to fly and I wouldn't want one of their tablets. Touchscreen technology still has a long way to go, in my opinion.

I like keyboards, so I take the opportunity to use something with a keyboard over something that's purely touch screen any chance I get.

I have an Android tablet and it is great for when I am traveling but at home or school I prefer my laptop.

you can get a keyboard for the ipad, which turns it into more of a traditional computer

Touchpads are ok, but for what I use my laptop for (programming equipment in the field and data analysis), I can't use touchpads or Apple products.

I can't do anything without a mouse, so computer. Yesterday I had to plot some data in my lab with a touch pad and it too FOREVER!

I absolutely need a keyboard, otherwise my frustration level mounts. My compromise is a net book for light "on the go" use.

I prefer my laptop. I like having the keyboard and the feel of it on my lap. I dont really like the feel of the ipads and I would rather have the disc compatibility as well.

iPads don't let you save and store files on them like a laptop
Well I guess it does but it still relies on a laptop in order to do that
