What do you keep on the bottom shelf?

Strange question I know, just something I've been thinking about. I'm doing some major re-organization/minimi zation at home and have completely cleared off my book shelf to move everything over to an entertainment unit I got from kijiji. The bottom shelf used to hold all my large sized hardcover books, but I NEVER touched them. They sat there collecting dust. Now, they are packed in a box and tucked away.

I've now decided the bottom shelf is only good for:

1. Kids stuff, since they can easily reach it.
2. Stuff you won't throw away, but don't really care about.

So tell me, what's on YOUR bottom shelf?

I don't have kids so I don't have to worry about what they can get into. I usually keep large books and heavy items on the bottom shelf because I am parinoid about higher shelves not being able to support all of the weight and then causing everything to fall down.

The only shelf I have is organizing my fabric. On the bottom I have my "fresher" fabrics that I just got. I try to rotate everything so I use my older fabrics before I break into the new stuff. Of course, if I buy something for a specific project, that gets done first. My top shelf is actually where I keep my odds and ends and big scraps. Things I'd like to use up before I move on, or things that can be used to stuff non-pillow projects. (Pet beds, plushies, those sorts of things) In the kitchen, things I don't use and my big pots and pans go on the bottom shelf. I guess putting things on the *top* shelf in the kitchen is a better way to store things for me, since I'm so small. Haha

The bottom shelf is reserved for the little guy's books and some extra toys that he doesn't keep in his room.

I have my big heavy books on the bottom shelf. The kids books are on the next self up, since they are lighter.
