Yoga, anyone?

I have to be in a particular mood to do it. I'm not a huge fan, but it's okay at times.

I love it! I was thinking about attending a teacher training but then found out it was $3000. Nope.

I usually go to Hatha classes. I like them a lot and I could rant and rave about how awesome my yoga teacher is because she's seriously the best. At the beginning of every class she just says "What are you all looking for today?" and people will shout stuff out, like "My back hurts." and say what their physical problem of the day is or just "I want to work on balance." and then she just comes up with a routine in her head, on the spot that will stretch the back and work the chakra for whatever problem. And she always offers modifications of the pose for people who are less flexible or overweight or have medical problems where it's difficult for them.

I've gone to an Ashtanga class once and it totally kicked my ass... I literally thought I was going to fall over and die in the middle of the class. It didn't help that all the people next to me (I know you're not supposed to focus on other people but I really had no clue if I was doing the poses right) were like the sterotypical sexy yoga people... There was a girl that was super tan and lean and really toned doing the poses like she was a pro and I was slightly chubby and had no clue what I was doing. I'd like to go do ashtanga again because it is awesome cardio and maybe I would be a tan sexy yoga girl if I did it every day. But next time I will definitely go to the beginner/noob version of the class because holy hell, nope.

I have started a transformation, and have recently discovered fat girl yoga, or the PC term "plus size yoga" lol. I love it, it's a low impact way to exercise and it is so fun!!!

We tried just recently this yoga dvd that has Hatha-style yoga on it. It's not a bad workout and it can be broken down into four mini workouts too.

I took my first yoga class about 10 years ago and got more serious about it maybe 3 years ago. I've practiced Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Hot, Viniyoga and a few others. Each are different and you may enjoy some over others. Some are much more vigorous than others.

I just feel better after class and in the long run. My husband says my scoliosis is much less muscularly noticeable and I have less aches and pain overall. I feel it helps me maintain a good emotional balance as well.

I am thankful to have studied with good teachers, and I've attended some really great workshops and intensives with some well-known names.

It's one of the very best things I do with my time.

I have never tried yoga, though I have been considering it as of late. I have read a number of positive posts from "spice", a big proponent of yoga and meditation. They may be a means for me to better manage my vices and stress in my life. Will see.

I go weekly it's a great stress reducer.

Yoga Nidra or nidre or whatever, the hypnosis type one, that's pretty freaking fun.

I do ashtanga yoga (which is frequently also called vinyasa yoga)! I love it. I used to run, do free weights and nothing made me feel as good as I do with yoga with (what feels like) half the effort. Yet, I got great results in terms of muscle tone, reduced overall body fat and it made me feel calm. With running, it always felt like I had to break the 10 - 15 minute mark, then run for at least 30 - 45 minutes to get great runner's high. With yoga, I get the 'good endorphins' feeling every time.
