I think they're cool and they look great, but I personally wouldn't want one. I'd have no need for her.

I liked that movie. It was kind of sad though.

Wow i totally agree!

Overrated and expensive yes, but I would still love to have one or two if I ever became rich enough for it.

I like the idea of such dolls, and I think there are people who could benefit from them. But I don't like Real Dolls almost at all aesthetically. The Japanese have a popular line called Candy Girls. I find them to have a more fresh-faced look. Most have Asian features, but they have some that look Caucasian now, too. I really hope they make males someday. Oh, just checked. They do have Real Doll males. Not pleasing to me at all, either.

You can get a glimpse of Candy Girls at Danny Choo: link

Oh. I just spazzed. Real Doll's Boy Toy Line. Actually, don't look, you'll hurt yourself. I recall they used to sell a doll called "Annie May" that had the same thing going on. I think they are supposed to appeal to anime fans or something, but they really don't get it.

And I don't get into the way they exhibit Real Dolls--so heavily made up. And the structure of some of the Real Doll faces don't look natural. Sort of like someone went heavy on the plastic surgery.

I am pleased Real Doll offers elf ears and "shemales" now, though. And the bodies have in some ways become more realistic. I was extremely impressed to see suggestion of a rib, muscle. I wish I could combine the best of Real Dolls with Candy Girls.

Some Candy Girls have simple and doll-like bodies. But some are pretty OK. Here are two newer models: link link Here is a link to the the faces of one more doll-like line: link, fifth tab. Try to ignore gagging girl...Who'd spend over $5,000 on someone who didn't look happy?

Candy Dolls also come in um...petite. But that is a whole 'nother topic. Though, I wouldn't mind buying one as a very non-sexual friend to put a computer into and dress up. I suspect that is what some people do, as weird as it may seem. It's like, well, a big and expensive doll.

I got carried away again. Sorry.

I'm stunned, I've never seen anything like that. I guess if I was in the position of not being able to get any ever again in my life, I might would consider. Until then, I don't think so. Where would you hide that when people came over. Though it would be nice to have for the HOV lane when driving in rush hour traffic.

when I saw this post I thought it was about the reborn baby dolls, this is creepier than the fake infants. You could have an imaginary family!
I can't imagine myself buying one of these under any circumstances.

i think its very expensive but for couples that can afford it and want something like a 3some without actually taking risks to their relationship, privacy and health by adding a third it could be worth the price.

Those are the creepiest thing I have EVER seen. Mannequins freak me out... that thing is just downright terrifying. And then reading the descriptions of the options for them... even creepier.

I'm kind of amused that I just came across this thread while watching an episode of "My Strange Addiction" with a guy who considers his doll his partner.

Yeah, those baby dolls freak me out. And I'm not freaked out by sex dolls! Well, not ones I find pretty.

We considered getting one of the um, younger looking Candy Girls--for a little friend of the very non-sexual sort. We'd order without the "equipment" if we could. We won't have children, so we considered getting a doll. Just to make people worry about us. If we had the money. Good thing we're not rich and famous--we'd be in tabloids all the time if any of our eccentricities came out.

A lot of guys in Japan collect non-sex dolls. It's spreading to the west. We are more exposed to otaku culture than our own culture, so it doesn't look too odd to us anymore.

I came back to see if I was a threadsecutioner, as usual. I'm glad to see I haven't scared people away too much.

I don't get the appeal, not when I have a living breathing man who wants me any time I'm willing.

I see the market for it but the price needs to come down by about $4k.

I watched that a couple years too and found that it stayed with me for a long time. I think it's great that those guys found a way to have companionship in some way, but it definitely does come across a touch creepy. It's clearly not for everyone, though.
If it were me, I think I would get even sadder and lonelier, talking to myself through a doll day in and day out. It would either drive home the solitude even harder or else make me descend into my own weird little fantasy world in a way that I feel would be pretty unhealthy. But, props to those guys for making it work.

these seem like allot of fun, but not as much fun as a living person. and certainly not worth the price. but i would still like to play with one, though, if i came into lots of money or could (safely) borrow one, i would love to

Just don't ever see the money there for a frivolous item like this. Think it would be amazing to have one around, sitting on the couch, as a conversation piece.
