The strobe light would be cool, but could get annoying after a few minutes. Most of the time, we do it with a single lamp on in the bedroom. We also have a blue bulb in there, but we don't turn it on very often. Probably a dozen times over the past 4 years. Once we get a play room, we want to have a bunch of lighting throughout the room, some in the ceiling, some shining up from the floor, so we might play with dimable lighting then.

I kinda go with the flow. I'm at a time at which I really like my body, so I don't mind having the lights on. It actually really helps in interacting with my partner. I can see his expressions clearly whether he likes something I am doing or not. To see his eyes, and how intense they become is just beautiful. I would totally advocate for lights on sex!

I love the idea of candlelight and should try this more often. (What I like in theory does not always translate into practicality . . . sex is usually impromptu, and my husband is impatient and doesn't see the point of waiting a few seconds for me to light a candle!)
My husband prefers the lights on, but I make him turn the lights out now (though we use the light from our closet so that it is not TOO dark). Why? Because we live in a second-floor apartment, and I noticed one evening when I came home and gazed upwards at our windows that you could see EVERYTHING through the angle of the slats of our blinds when the light in our bedroom is on at night. I was horrified as I realized what a show we'd put on for our neighbors for months and months. The ENTIRE outer wall of our bedroom is LINED with windows, too, including a bay window to really put us on display.

I know, right? My Man is always like, "C'Mon, I wanna fuck. Quit messing around with the candles." I also usually have to turn on the humidifier to block noise and make sure both doors in our bedroom are shut. He just wants to throw me on the bed and get to it.
If I tell him I'm lighting a massage candle and he will get a massage after sex, the candle thing goes better.

My husband likes morning sex, so it's usually in the light. For the first time in a long time we did it in the dark the other night and it was AWESOME. Not that I don't like looking at my sweetie, but it was cool just to be able to feel him and not look around and get distracted by my messy bedroom, or the dogs, or his silly sex face =P Plus when one of your senses is taken away, the rest get heightened.
