Paying Shipping For Assignments In Hawaii

I have been having issues with doing the assignments through the checkout process since I live in Hawaii. The free shipping (FedEx) cannot be selected because I am in Hawaii, so the only other option is to pay for USPS shipping. I am confused. Are Hawaii contributors now required to pay for the shipping or do we not actually get charged for that?
