Watching more and more video reviews where the packaging is shown, I've been curious how many of you save the packaging as a rule, or if you only save it when you plan to do a video or something.
I generally save the packaging for all items I intend to review, both video and otherwise. I'm a bit anal about it really. Even if the product comes in a cheap plastic box, I save it until the review is over. This is mainly because I usually mention the packaging in my reviews, & I don't actually examine the packaging until I'm writing my reviews. Lol. After I've written the review, I generally toss the toy's original container, unless it's an excellent means of storage.

I'm pretty much the same way, although my fiance managed to lose one or two here and there so now I have to skimp on that part, but that packaging wasn't all that great to begin with, so nobody's really missing much of anything, lol
I store my stuff in the original packaging anyway for the most part. I honestly don't care enough to go out of my way to store it that way though. If it's not in the package, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Depends on the packaging. If it's minimal, like a cardboard box or something, I'll say a word or two but not actually show it if I've already recycled it.
If I'm posting pictures on an offsite review, I save the packaging at least long enough to take pictures.

It really depends on the packaging if I keep it to store the toy in or not.
Sammi's explanation is the same as mine. Sometimes I don't include packaging pictures if it's really simple (e.g. clear plastic bag), unattractive (e.g. gawdy pictures on a box), or not designed for permanent storage (e.g. giant boxes, hard-to-open containers).
I rarely keep packaging unless it's exceptional. I have way too much crap to have boxes all over the house. If I think a review will be a lot better by showing the packaging or there are no on site pictures of it, I may save long enough to do video or pics but... it's rare, since EF takes such thorough pictures.
Some viewers may like to know what the package looks like though, if it's discreet, etc., so I may prop it next to the product. If it's nice, such as an Evolved Novelties case, then I would show it.
I often show the packaging in the videos, I think there has been a few times when I haven't. I don't know why, I guess just because I personally like to see the packaging and how easy it is to open and store the item in.
I usually will keep at least the plastic inner part even after the video though, but I don't always keep the outer packaging unless I really like it for some reason.
I tend to keep packages long enough to take a picture of them for off-site reviews. Often I take the pictures right when I get the toy then throw it out. In terms of the vid. review, I don't think packaging is a big deal here so I'll only included the packaging if it is note worthy in some way, mainly if it good enough that that is what I storing the toy in.

Don't spend too much time on it, there's more important things to talk about in the limited time of a video review.

i try to save packaging for pics for regular reviews. in vids i don't often include the packaging... not sure why. maybe because i always show it in the written review.
it's important to me to show folks what they're getting... all of it.

It depends on the product. If it is a product that has little to no packaging, or packaging that isn't informative whatsoever (ex: clear plastic) then I trash it. I hate saving boxes.

It depends. SOmetimes I am so excited to get my items into my own "cubby" or storage that I will shove them into where they go and toss the packaging. If it has a really nice packaging or something that can be reused for storage, then I will save it. Often times though I will toss it.
I forget that I will need it for a video review. Sometimes though I will take photos right when I get it, of the packaging and the item in it, then I will toss it. It all depends on the item though.
i keep all my packaging even if i don't store my toys in them regardless of whether its for a review or not. but i only have like 30 toys so ask me in another 6 months to a year!!!lol
